THE NEXT TUESDAY SAM went through — he noticed something about the same man in the diner. He no longer had the strawberry syrup, but the maple syrup. "So, you think you're caught in some kind of what again?"

"Eat your breakfast." Sam retorts, staring at the man. When he went to get up, Sam looked away to not make it obvious and when he left, he got a bag he'd been carrying and stood up, walking toward the door. "What's in the bag?" Allison asks.

They found Sam pinning the man who left the diner, against a fence with a stake in his hands, pressing it against his neck. They picked up their pace. "I know who you are. Or should I say what?" Sam says to the man. He glances down at the weapon and he cries out, "Oh, my God. Please, don't kill me."

"Uh, Sam . . ." Dean trails off.

"It took me a hell of a long time, but I got it."

"What?""

"It's your M.O. that gave you away. Going after pompous jerks, giving them their just deserts. Your kind loves that, don't they?" Sam asks him. It clicked in Allison mind that this could be a Trickster. "Yeah, sure. Okay." The man stumbled over his words, "Just put the stake down."

"Sam, maybe you should —" Dean says but Sam was quick to tell him no. "There's only one creature powerful enough to do what you're doing — making reality into nothing, sticking people in time loops. In fact, you'd pretty much have to be a God."

"You'd have to be a trickster." Allison says and Dean looks over at her. "Are you crazy too? Don't answer that."

"Mister, my name is Ed Coleman. My wife's name is Amelia. I got two kids. For crying out loud, I sell Ad space!" He cries out.

"Don't lie to me! I know what you are!" Sam shouts, "We've killed one of your kind before!" Ed Coleman morphs into someone else. The Trickster. "Actually, bucko, you didn't."

"Why are you doing this?" Sam asks him, not removing the stake from his throat. "You're joking, right? You chuckleheads tried to kill me last time. Why wouldn't I do this?"

"And Hasselback — what about him?" Allison speaks up.

"Hey beautiful. Long time no see." He smirks at her making her grit her teeth. "Answer!" Dean says.

The Trickster sighs, "That putz? He said he didn't believe in wormholes, so I dropped him in one." He laughs, "Then you guys showed up. I made you the second you hit town."
