GEORGE

I woke up with a blow to the head.

"Argh! What's wrong with you?"

Dream laid on my lap after waking me up with an elbow to the face. He was very considerate, so he had removed part of his armor when he decided to throw himself on top on me, but it did not changed the fact that it still hurt.

"With a "George, wake up" would have been enough, you know I'm a light sleeper."

"But it wouldn't be fun that way." His face was facing the ceiling, but for a moment he turned to see me. His mask had fallen slightly to the side, enough that I could see part of his skin, the occasional freckle on his face and part of his chin. I wanted to keep watching, as if that tiny display of his identity was enough to satisfy my curiosity, but he got up and began to put on the rest of the armor and pick up some things.

I rubbed my eyes and put my glasses on, by the time I turned around, Dream had returned to his normal appearance and had regained his composure.

"What time is it?"

"Time for your maids to arrive to enlist you."

At that same moment, Catalina and Helena entered, the two maids who were always in charge of getting me ready for royal events. I didn't see them much since I always avoided going to them, but something told me that now I would see those two more often.

How did you know when they would arrive? Dream never failed to amaze me.

I greet them with a slight bow.

"Ladies." They both leaned back. "I'll leave him in your hands, I'll wait outside in case you need me."

They both bowed when Dream walked past them and closed the door behind him. I watched him leave in annoyance.

The maids got down to work, bringing a suit much lighter than the one of the coronation, but it was still extremely formal. The top consisted of a white blouse with ruffles and long sleeves that protruded from a bright blue jacket with gold and silver details on the buttons and shoulders. The lower part was a simple formal trousers of the same material as the jacket, but with those golden details to the side of the legs, with the occasional decoration at the end.

There were many people in the castle who felt totally normal when the aides helped them dress, but for me it was extremely uncomfortable. I had no problem with my body, but it was worth mentioning that I did not like to show anything to anyone. I had always been a cold and dry person, I did not like too much in physical contact and this was definitely not the exception.

The maids finished their work and looked at me in the mirror. The golden crown glowed on my head intimidating me. I could not recognize myself, I admitted that I actually saw myself as a king, but George as a person, could not consider himself as one. I just didn't feel like me.

I sighed to myself and the maids bowed.

"You must enter the room before the guests arrive." I had no idea who were invited, I didn't know anyone other than the guards with whom I spoke from time to time. "Remember to say hello, keep your posture young man..." Catalina had started her fast etiquette classes, but Helena interrupted her.

"Be kind Your Highness, but remember to have fun." She replied in a sweet and kind tone. She would be a better queen... Pf. Sure. Now they were all better kings than me, I had no doubts about that.

They both left the room and I did the same. I started walking into the huge living room, and without any indication, Dream followed me, I immediately gave him my glasses to put them back in his belt. I didn't like anyone else having them.

"Stay by my side. Hopefully you'll intimidate anyone who wants to come to greet me and they leave."

"Remember that I cannot do that for you, Your Highness, I am here to protect you, I am not a guest and I must follow instructions."

"I hate that you answer me like that, there is no one to hear you speak."

"Someone is always listening."

After wandering around the castle for decades, we reached the main hall, which was decorated with blue and red decorations, a beautiful chandelier hung from the ceiling, radiating light throughout the room. The tables were lined with delicate plates and white flower decorations, with a huge dance floor in the center. I had to admit that everything looked beautiful, but it kept making me uncomfortable that it was all for me.

I already knew the protocol: I would sit on the throne in the back until the guests arrived, then I would go down to say hello, surely I would continue to eat and even dance with young people from the kingdom for education.

"You know what to do, Your Highness."

Dream left me alone and went to his position on the right wall in the direction of the throne.

"Get this shit started."
