Chapter 5~~~

Dear Journal,                                                                     Sat. July 5, 2008 2:05am

  So as of two hours and five minutes ago its officially one day until my birthday. Yay... Woohoo... Yipie... Who cares. Ever since May I'm in a mood I can't shake. I'm not excited about anything and couldn't care less about everything. I'm going to be 15 tomorrow only one more year and I can drive... I just don't care. I don't know why he had to leave me. Leaving mom I can understand but me... Even Hope? I just don't know anything now. I'm going to try to go to sleep now... haha yea right.

School went ok the rest of the week. Even normal almost. Until Friday that is. Friday wrecked the whole week but I'm sure I'll survive detention though. Friday was a Gold day at school which meant SRP first period. I was tired because I didn't sleep at all the night before and thought I might just maybe get away with sleeping through SRP. Think again...

"Miss. Compton, I will not ask you again to find something productive to do in my class" Mr. Vincent said in a stern tone that made his voice sound even deeper that it normally was.

"I'm sorry" I siad, "I just have a headach and putting my head down on my desk seems to help.

He pulled something out of his desk drawer and headed toward the door, "Miss Compton would you please follow me."

I looked up and he was standing by the open door and Alyssa and Tegan both looked at me with blank stares.

As I got closer to the door I asked, "Where are we going?'

"To find you something to do... You will see when we get there" He said with a smile on his face that really confused me. Why would he be smiling when I'm in trouble? As we came into view of the library my confusion grew. What was he going to make me do? Spend SRP shelving books, really? As we walked through the door he took a left instead of going straight to the librarian's desk. Ok really what is going on.

"Wait right here" he said as he stepped in door that was marked teachers lounge. It only took him about a minute to come back out with a can of Mountain Dew in hand. "Here" he said handing me the can and pulled me around the side of a long bookcase so we were out of sight. "Take these also, their just Tylenol, I'm sure you have taken them before. I think its dumb that we don't allow our high schoolers to request Tylenol in the office without permission from a parent."

"Umm, ok" I said with that deer caught in headlights look, I'm sure I looked stupid.

"Don't think your completely off the hook though," He said patting me on the back. "Pick a book any book" like he was going to do a magic trick with cards. "You also have detention with me after school today for an hour."

"Ugh, really? But its Friday can't I do it on Monday... Pleeeeeeasssseeeee" I drug out the please to push the beging.

"No, you will serve it today and thats the final answer. Now, find a book. I expect the book you choose to be your best friend for the next week at least. If you don't have something to do in my class then you better have your best friend." He said it like he meant it.

I stroled around the library taking my sweet time just to annoy him for giving me detention. I wasn't even looking at the books, just kind of through them, really. He just followed behind me waiting for me to find a book.

Once he became bored of my game he said, "Any day now Miss.Compton."

I had seen the book I wanted on the other side of the library so without looking at him I turned around and marched clear across to the other side. I grabbed a book from the top shelf, having to stretch up on my tippytoes and barley reaching it. "Found one!" I said.

He rolled his eyes and took the book from me to see what it was."Romeo and Juliet, it took you 15 minutes to pick out Romeo and Juliet" he said looking down at his watch.

"Nope" I said bluntly, "I knew what book I was going to get on my first trip around the library. I just wanted to make you suffer for giving me detention on a Friday."

"Lets get back to class. I'm sure it's in total chaos by now." he sighed and started down the hall. "Serve your detention on Monday after school but if you don't have something to do in my class all next week you will be serving detentions all of the following week.." He said it with a smirk on his face I think hes really trying to make my life hell.

Its not like it would have been a big deal to serve detention on a Friday. I don't have any thing special to do. I just like to annoy my teachers when they give me a detention for some stupid reason.

I was ready to go home by the end of the day but Kelly stopped me on my way out. "Your meeting us at Tegan's tonight right?'

"Sure I'll be there" I smiled to him as I headed to my jeep. I wanted to go home and take a nap first.
