Chater 6

Chapter 6~~~

     Friday night at Tegan's house was pretty fun. We all just sat around talking, listening to music, and smoking. Not so much different from a night with my friends back in Indiana with a few small exceptions. We were all piled on Tegan's bed talking about school and how cool it was that this was our last year as high schoolers. Every thing was going like it should until my phone rang. I pulled it out of my purse and seen ALEX on the screen and hit the ignore button and a few seconds later it buzzed at me to let me know I had a new voice mail. My smile started to slowly fade away. I had hoped to put talking to him off for as long as possible or maybe just avoid it all together.

"What was that all about?' Miles asked causing the others to look up at me.

"Oh nothing much" I assured him "Just an old friend I don't really want to talk to right now."

"Yea I bet. That's not a look you get when a friend calls." Alyssa teased as she nudged me with her elbow making everyone else laugh.

"No, really guys, I swear. It was just a FRIEND from my old school." I said probably a little too defensively.

"Wow, chill out ittybitty. I believe you... For Miles' sake anyways." Kelli winked at me then smacked Miles on the back.

"Ugh, Kelli you can be such a dick some times" Leigha shot him a evil look before getting up to go to the bathroom.

"Sorry dude, it had to come out at some point" Kelli apologized to Miles.

      As Miles looked up at me I gave him a shy smile not really knowing what to do. The last time I dated someone in my group of friends, Alex to be exact, it didn't end to well. Even 4 states away I'm still dealing with it. I don't want to hurt his feelings but I promised myself I'd be different this time around. How could I handle this the right way?

"So anyways... it's like 2:30 in the am why don't we watch a movie and you can all just crash here tonight" Tegan said trying to break the slince that had crept into the room.

"Sounds good to me but I'm NOT watching one of your 'chick flicks' again." Kelli said.

"Whatever Kelli, you loved P.S. I Love You. You almost cried and don't even try to deny it!" Tegan said laughing.

"I just had some thing in my eye" Kelli replied.

"In both eyes? At the same time?" Tegan was on a roll and just kept going until we had picked a movie to watch.

 It was around 3:30 am when my phone started to vibrate and woke me up. It was Alex again and just like before I hit ignore. I looked around and seen everyone else was asleep. Tegan, Alyssa, Miles and I were all piled up on Tegan's bed. Kelli and Leigha were sharing the huge beanbag chair in the corner. I slid out from under Miles' leg and Alyssa's head that was on my lap and slipped out to the bathroom. As I open the door and shut the light off I turned around and ran right smack into Miles' bare chest. He wasn't bad looking without a shirt on by any means. His body was tone and tan. Crap what was I thinking... He's my friend and I'm not going to do this.

"Sorry I didn't even see you" I wispered "Sorry if I woke you up. I was trying to be quiet."

"It's cool. You didn't wake me up I was already awake." he whispered back. I gave him a small smile and quickly looked down at my toes. "Faith, I'm sorry Kelli brought it up, but yea I'm kind of into you. I think you already knew that though."

"I guess I had an idea. I wasn't sure though." was the only thing I could think of to say.

"Faith, you crack me up some times" he said wrapping his arms around me pulling me into a hug. "One second you act like you run the world and no one can stop you, then the next you get all shy."

    I realized too late that I had raised my arms to be around his neck and let out a little giggle. "Running the world takes alot of work ya know. I just need a break some times." I said into his shoulder. I could smell a mix of his body wash, sweat, and smoke where my head lay on his chest right below his shoulder. It was familure, relaxing, and nerve wrecking all in one but I couldn't help but to inhale deeply to take it all in as we stood there. I felt him pull away and as I started to let my arms down he moved his hands up the sides of my body to my arms. He held his hands between my wrists and elbows not letting me go. That's where I made my mistake. When I lifted my head up off of his chest my eyes lingered a split second too long at his mouth. He lowered his lips to mine and let his hands slide back down to my waist pulling me closer to him and backing me up against the wall. My mind was going so fast at that moment that I bet you could hear it buzzing. What was I doing kissing my friend? Maybe it would be different this time. This isn't how things were going to work this time. Miles is really hot and sweet to maybe this could work. Back and forth, back and forth all while I was standing there with my arms around Miles and kissing him.
