Chapter Twenty Five: Police brain?

[Flashback continues- I'm sure this is like deja vu lol. SO SORRY FOR THOSE WHO WANTED JIKOOK. IT WILL COME S-SOON👀]

Being a ghost is fun at times. He can just stalk people without them knowing and that's exactly what Jimin is doing right now.

He watches as the man who killed the lady talks to someone on phone, clearly using his reputation, his job to get away from this.

After all, a trained policeman has the brains to cover up everything after a murder.

How to get away with murder?

"I didn't have a choice okay? If I didn't do it, she would've taken all the money!!" The man argued on the phone.

"What about that kid? Wouldn't your brother's money go to him when he turns 18 according to the agreement?"

"That kid is too naive for that. He looks up to me, so I will use that and get the money. If he causes any trouble, I will finish him too," The man said, laughing silently.

Jimin stares with a blank face.

"Well, take care of the police. The senior superintendent will get suspicious if I vouch to take over the case. I have to pretend to be heartbroken to the point I can't even come to work. It is not hard to conclude that this isn't a pity accident and is a planned murder. I would've concluded that on spot. So, all eyes will turn to the family members first for inspection. They will interrogate all of us and the only one who would look suspicious is me and my wife since that kid is a coward and my brother is incapable of killing his wife. And the reason I am not afraid is because of Lucy. She will be the prime suspect since all the men in the station know I am a good policeman. I will pretend to support her and when it comes to certain extremes, I will have Lucy get arrested and escape from this whole thing. But something suspicious is ha--"

"You could've just made it look like an accident and all this problem won't be there, you know?"

"I know. But where is the fun in it? It is fun watching my brother and the kid cry, now it will be more fun to see the police struggling to find the murderer. Who would've thought the sincere policeman, Jeon Jih could kill?!" He asked laughing manically but quickly silencing himself.

"Wow. You are a real psycho. Now tell me. What is that suspicious thing you were talking about?"

"I heard that bitch talk with someone while she was inside. Someone else was there with her but no other body was found. That person broke the glass. Knowing my sister, she probably had her seatbelt secured around her. But after seeing the evidence photo you sent me, I noticed how the seatbelt was torn apart. She doesn't have that much strength. This adds to my suspicion that someone else was in the car with her. I didn't see anyone leaving when I set the car on fire, but they could've escaped somehow after I left. So I have to be careful. Make sure no one injured or burnt shows up to the police. And if you get any news about such a patient being admitted to a hospital, don't hesitate to kill them." He explained.

"How can someone even survive that?"

"This world is full of mysteries, Jay. And the person who was with my sister-in-law that day is one of those mysteries too," He answers calmly.

"Hmm. I will update you on what is happening later on."

"Yeah. Don't delete the call history. The others know we are close, so it would be suspicious if they find that we aren't talking. Tell them I called you and cried a lot, worried about my brother and my lovely Jungkook," He instructed and Jay hummed in reply.
