I opened my eyes to see Shells sleeping next to me. Last night was just kicking in and I was in a dilemma about whether I could trust her or not. This had gone long enough and my heart wasn’t taking it any longer. I needed to find a solution today. I turned to her side and watched her sleep as I thought for a way out. BAM! I had something in my mind, not sure if this would work but it was worth trying.

I quietly took my phone and the detective’s card, then left my bedroom. I sat in the porch and dialed the number.

‘’Detective Prince. How may I help you?’’ – ‘’Hi, I am Willow Nathaniel. I was meaning to ask you something, it may be crucial for me.’’ I said. He curiously asked ‘’Hi Ms. Nathaniel. What did you want to ask?’’. I said ‘’I wanted to know if there was a police report on a break-in at Talessee Alley from two days ago. To the residence of Shells… Chelsea Taylor, a witness in Dutchson case.’’ – ‘’I’m not allowed to share police reports with civilians.’’

‘’Please,’’ I said ‘’it could change everything, because if there was no break-in, then unfortunately Ms. Taylor may have a part in the case.’’ He put me on hold without saying anything. I waited on the line for a few minutes. ‘’There is,’’ he said ‘’There is a police report for a break-in. In fact, the report says they found evidence, too. But no suspects.’’ Upon hearing this, I couldn’t control my smirk. She’s innocent I said to myself.

I ran the whole way to my room with a huge grin on my face. I jumped on the bed so fast, it awakened Shells. I hugged her very tightly, she hugged me back. She asked ‘’What’s going on?’’ – ‘’I trust you, I trust you 100%.’’ I said. She said ‘’I trust you, too. But, where did these ‘emotions’ came from?’’ I answered ‘’Don’t worry about that. I need to tell you new things about Claire and the Werecat. But I can’t do this now. My parents are about to wake up and they shouldn’t see you here just yet.’’ Shells exclaimed ‘’The Werecat?’’ I shook my head ‘’Yep! Oh, by the way, can you call Ricky and Nicos, too? I think they should know it.’’ – ‘’Sure!’’ said Shells, ‘’Let’s meet this afternoon.’’ and went out by the window.

I looked at her as she left, she also didn’t keep her eyes off of me. In fact, she accidentally bumped into a woman passing by the road. ‘’Good Morning.’’ she said to the woman, waved at me in embarrassment and ran. The woman looked at me, she also waved at me and signed me to open the door. I ran there and opened it. ‘’Hey!’’ she said smiling, ‘’Is that the Macanroy Residence?’’ – ‘’Yes, and who are you?’’ I asked. She answered ‘’I am Patricia, the housekeeper.’’ I requested her to chill on the patio for a minute as I went to ask my step-dad, who just woke up and already started to tend the garden, if they hired a housekeeper. He said ‘’Yes yes! Let her in, I am coming as soon as I finish my work here.’’

I walked back to the porch and saw Patricia drinking whiskey straight out of the bottle. ‘’Oh, you are drinking at 8AM in the morning.’’ – ‘’Well baby, you said chill and I was chilling ri-ight. Just kidding, it’s just iced tea, I stole the bottle from the bar’s trash last night. Cool, huh! Wanna sip?’’ I declined her offer as polite as I could because on the inside I could only point out how weird the situation was. I said ‘’Please, come in! My parents will meet you soon.’’ After that, I awkwardly waited my parents with Patricia in the living room as we stared at each other in complete silence. When my parents finally showed up, I sneaked off as they greeted Patricia and told her about our house. It’s two stories, three bedrooms, there’s also a basement but it’s locked and we weren’t given the keys with the house.

I knocked on Jen’s door and entered her room. She was drawing in her bed. I told her to slide, with a happy face; she curiously slid and gestured me to sit.
