the sun poured into the bedroom of paul and i's, creating a orange glow upon the framed walls. it was a warm, sunny summers day and i stood at the window, admiring the gentle breeze than softly weaved it's way through my hair. paul was in his small studio, finishing up a song before breakfast. he had been stressed and secretive recently. about what? i couldn't tell you for i didn't have a clue myself.
however, i hadn't been 100% honest with him either and i think he knew that. you see, i had a secret in which i hadn't told him yet. it was scary for me to know, i cant imagine how he'll feel about it.
still, i suppose now was the time to tell him.
"hey, love? i was thinkin' we go out later" i heard his voice ask from a distance, slowly fading in closer. his voice was almost intoxicating, putting me under a spell of some sort. the feeling of his warm, calloused fingers grazing against my skin as he helf me from behind by the waist. he always seemed to have a trance on me and honestly, i wouldn't have it any other way.
"erm, yeah. sure" i spoke, voice wavering with anxiety. he clearly noticed this because he turned me to face him and had his eyebrows knitted in confusion.
"are you okay?" he asked me. i gulped. now was the time. i had figured a fairly fun way to do so yet i was still nervous as hell.
"paul, we're gonna play a little game" i smiled meekly. if he didn't look confused before, he definitely did now with his brow raised. "oh, yeah? what game?"
"a guessing game" i smirked as he rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed at the fact i wouldn't let him know anymore than that.
"go on then" he sighed in agreement though a small smile played upon his lips.
"okay, heres the deal. i have this" i started, showing him a small piece of paper with writing on it. "and you can have it. it has a clue on it which will lead you to the next clue" he nodded, showing he was following. "once you have all the clues you'll be lead to the suprise and then. . . well, we'll just have to see, won't we?" i smirked.
he chuckled lightly, warming my heart. "alright. what's the first 'clue'?" he smiled. this was the thing i loved about him most. even if he didn't know how he felt about something, he'd still dive in head first just to make others happy. how couldn't anyone love him for that?
i handed him the paper and he read the words that had been written.
'its where we first fell asleep in each others arms<3'
it seemed simple but it was whether he remembered or not. i sure hoped he did because if he didn't, it would sting a little to say the least.
"oh, that night when you came over crying and so we ate watched a movie and you fell asleep on me" he laughed lightly. i nodded, a smile on my face. he remembered, rushing down the stairs. i followed closely behind.
paul walked over to the sofa in the living room, searching all over it for a clue. he seemed excited. more than i could be anyway.
after five minutes or so he pulled another slip of paper from underneath the sofa with a triumphant cheer. "well that was a task and a half, wasn't it?" he laughed, standing up once more. "sorry, i guess it fell"
his eyes scanned over this clue. a look of confusion came washing over his face. "huh?" he mumbled before rubbing his forehead, then trying to read it again in the hopes he'd understand it this time.
apparently, i had made it too complex for him.
"love, i don't understand this at all" he admitted, a sorry look on his face. i smiled and walked towards him. he looked up at me, eyes pleading. "help me understand it please, love?" he asked. i continued to smile at him as he grabbed my hips and placed me to sit on his lap. taking the paper i read it out.
