Chapter 15

(Piya's POV)

I stared at the bracelet. Tears filled my eyes. Mommy had given it to me as a gift....a week before I found her dead. I felt like she was back with me. I clutched the bracelet with all my might.

(Abhay's POV)

I wanted to go inside....to see if Piya was okay, but I stopped. Now she knows what I am. She was afraid. She didn't want me to come near her. But now I didn't care. She would have to accept me.

I found her on my bed, just as I left her. She continued to look away. I could feel her fear grow as I moved closer to the bed. She was holding the bracelet.

"Where did you get this from?" She asked, showing me the bracelet.

"Why?"

"Because this is mine. It has my name engraved into it." She showed me the inside of the locket for proof.

Is she the girl I saved years ago? I don't know......

"I had saved a girl many years back.....two men were trying to bury her alive. This bracelet had gotten caught into my shirt. I've had it ever since."

"Where did you leave her?" She asked.

"I don't remember the name of the place....but I left her at an orphanage."

(Piya's POV)

I was shocked. Abhay was the man who had saved my life. That explains why I've always felt like I've known him before.

"Are you really that same girl?" He asked.

I stayed silent, but nodded. He smiled a bit.

"Please take me home. I've had enough of today..." I said quietly.

He listened, helping me up. I still tried to look away from him. I didn't want to....but the fear of being with a vampire controlled me.

He dropped me home....still watching me until I went through the front door. His eyes were full of worry. I went straight to my room, refusing to eat or sit with Maya and Kaka. I changed into my nightdress and lied down in bed.

The bracelet twinkled a little in the dim light. I finally decided to put it on. I felt a strange sensation in my entire body. It was a different feeling. I....felt...more powerful. It was weird. I ignored it and went sleep.

(A couple hours later...)

I found myself in a dark room. It was cold and musty.

"Hello?" I yelled.

"Piya beta!" A familiar voice called back.

My mother walked into view....wearing a fancy gown. Emotions quickly filled up inside me as I ran to hug her. I remembered my childhood moments with her.

"Piya.....I don't have much time. Listen to me carefully."

"What?" I said, wiping my tears.

"Remember the park I used to take you to?" I nodded.

"Go there before sunset. There is a giant oak tree in the center. Dig down on the side which is facing the fountain....you will know the rest later..."

Mommy then disappeared. I called out to her but no response. I woke up right away.
What just happened?

I remembered mommy's instructions. What could be buried near that tree? I have to go tomorrow itself....
