Previously...
The time he spent getting lost in the pages of books. Just to imagine what it was like. Just to get a chance. And here it was. His chance to get away from everything. The younger him would have jumped at the chance. But that was back when nothing mattered. Yet what mattered right now? What was holding him back? He had his answer.
"I'd love to go."
Chapter 6
"Wonderful!" Dumbledore said happily. "Shall we go shopping for your supplies now?"
Harry let out a sigh and checked the beaten up watch on his wrist. He had a shift at work later in a few hours. There should be time. He nodded at Dumbledore. "Why not?"
"Great! I already informed your social worker that we would go shopping for supplies directly after. Now hold onto to my hand and I shall transport us." Dumbledore said holding out his hand. Harry looked at for a second in distrust before taking hold of it
As soon as Harry took hold of Dumbledore's hand, he gasped as one of the most uncomfortable sensation he ever felt passed through him. He felt like he was being passed through a small tube. When the pressure released, he took a large breath and steadied himself. He looked around and realised he was no longer in his social workers office and instead somewhere else.
"Where are we? It certainly doesn't look like the stuffy office we were in earlier." Harry asked with a raised eyebrow.
"We are in the leaky cauldron. I apparated you here." Before Harry could aske what apparition Dumbledore explained, "Apparition is a form of transport witches and wizards use but only fully grown wizards who have their licence can apparate. Like a muggle driving license. The leaky cauldron is a famous entrance to Diagon Alley. Why don't you read the second page of your letter."
Harry pulled out the second page of his letter and skimmed his eyes over it.

Harry looked at the contents of the letter and memorised everything by heart. Having eidetic memory certainly helped him in times like these. He put his hands in his pockets and found the small bundle of money he was holding earlier and frowned when he noticed how lacking he was. He wouldn't be able to buy any of these. Before he could say anything, Dumbledore spoke.
"Harry are you ready? We need to go and collect your money before shopping." Harry's head snapped up to look at Dumbledore.
"Money? Listen I don't have enough and I certainly don't want to be in debt of anyone. I don't have any money right now."
"Why of course you do. Do you really think your parents wouldn't leave you anything? Its in the wizarding bank. Gringotts." Dumbledore ushered Harry into the leaky cauldron and when he was about to manoeuvre Harry through the crowds of witches and wizards welcoming him back he spotted Harry pushing his way through the crowd carefully and ending up quickly on the other side of the room. Dumbledore would let this go for now but Harry was a little to independent for his liking.
Dumbledore followed Harry to the back of the pub, and Dumbledore touched the third brick from the left with his wand. Harry jumped when the bricks started began moving and started forming an entrance to a long alley.
"Welcome to Diagon Alley Harry."
Harry looked around in wonder at the busy street. Shops lined every space, each selling different things. Things he had never seen before. He turned around in a full circle committing every detail to his memory. He let a smile form on his face as he looked around at the different looking people walk around. Some running, some walking, some standing ogling at things in window displays. Kids rushed past Harry bumping into him before picking themselves up and following the crowd to form a circle around a shop eagerly trying to catch glimpses of an item. Harry followed them running behind and stopped in front of the shop.
Children had their faces pressed to the window and were staring at the item in longing. It was a broomstick. A good looking one. Certainly better than ones he had ever seen. It didn't look like it was for cleaning. On the handle of the broom there were letters engraved. It said 'Nimbus 2000' in gold swirly letters. Harry watched in awe as mini versions of the broom no bigger than the size of his fingers flew at remarkable speed around. Did the wizards and witches fly on the broom? Like in the stories? Cause if they did it would probably be the first thing Harry would want to try. He could just imagine flying on a broom. The wind blowing through his hair. The ground leaving his sight as he rose in the air. The way everything would blur together as he flew. Just everything.
"Harry come on. We can look at everything later. Lets get some money first." Dumbledore said a little coldly breaking Harry out of his musings. Harry scowled a little. His previous feelings of distrust and dislike at the man came back in full force. He shook his head to banish the thoughts and nodded before following the man through the crowds. There was no use of ruining his mood.
Harry didn't know the first thing about this world or what takes place. But there was one thing he was sure of. He was going to like it here.
