Chapter Eleven, Wedding

The day had finally arrived. The day Kol Mikaelson and Evangeline 'Evie' Parker were getting married; Kai and Marcel were not looking forward to it. Kai was not looking forward to giving away his baby sister, the only one who had ever loved him and didn't see him as a monster. Kai was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts, when the door to the room Evie was using to change pushed open. Pushing himself off of the railing and straightening his pale blue suit, Kai turned to face his baby sister only to become stumped over her beauty. She looked like Hecate born again.

She wore a Pearl white a-line dress with lace sleeves and a sweetheart neckline, the cut of her dress clearly showing off her baby bump which only added to her euphoria, and peaking out at the hem were pale blue court heels. She had pale blue and white painted nails, blonde her hair was curled and styled in a half-up and half-down style, and her makeup consisted off pale blue eyeshadow and dark rose lipstick. The sapphire and blue diamond earrings that were once her mothers and the blue and white bouquet completed the look.
"What? Is something wrong?" Evie asked nervously, worried she'd smudged something onto the dress with the way Kai was starring at her.

"No. No you look gorgeous. Mum would've been so proud of you." Kai said tearfully clasping his sister's hands tenderly within his own. "Just as I am Evie."
"She does. Doesn't she." Holly commented, giving Kai a flirty wink as she exited the room with Davina beside her. Both girls were Evie's only bridesmaids and looked beautiful in their pale blue bridesmaids dresses (Holly's was styled in an off-the-shoulder style), white court heels, pale blue and rose nails, their makeup consisted off pale blue eyeshadow and dark rose lipstick, and their hair was styled in a braided chignon.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this? We can leave now, just say the word and I'll take my baby sister somewhere safe where that Original Herratic will never find you." Kai asked, Evie just giggled and kissed her brother's cheek. He was the closest thing she had to a father; always had been.

"I'm sure Kai, but thank you. You've always been there for me, you were a brother and father rolled into one and I love you." Evie declared, smiling a watery smile at her dearest brother.
"And I always will be." Kai promised, kissing her forehead. "Come on, I'm sure we've made Kol sweat long enough with how fashionably late you are." He smirked, placing his sister's hand into the nook of his elbow chuckling manically, while Evie just laughed and shook her head at him.
"What about you and Holly?" Evie asked slyly.
"I - I don't know what you're talking bout." Kai spluttered.
"Of course not." Evie teased, giggling as she watched his cheeks heat up.
"Shush you." Kai reprimanded half heartedly, nudging her gently with his hip.

"You deserve to be happy, Kai, and if she makes you happy then go for it. You know I will always support you as you support me." Evie said seriously, as they came to the start of the aisle. Not saying anything for now Kai just kissed her forehead before leading her slowly down the aisle to Kol who let out a sigh of relief as he smiled blindingly at Evie. Kai was man enough to admit, begrudgingly, that he liked the Original Herratic and he was good for his little sister. But he wouldn't hesitate to stake his arse if he so much as made Evie sad; and Kol knew it too as he nodded his head to Kai once they joined him and Marcel who was presiding over the ceremony.

Throughout the wonderful wedding Kai couldn't help but be not only amazed but happy at the family he and Evie had chosen for themselves. They were shaking off the shackles their so-called family had placed on them with help from those most trusted around them; and to see Evie so at ease, so happy was the highlight of Kai's life. That's all he wanted for his baby sister who meant the world to him. Oh, he knew it wasn't over with their ex-family/coven they would come looking for their so-called father and try to attack them but Kai wasn't worried. They would be ready when the time came. But for now he enjoyed his sister's wedding and let himself have a peace of happiness as he too danced the night away with Holly.
