The next morning Koyi assisted Kuiil and put the two blurrgs to rest. While they had to move soon it was a small thanks they gave to the animals. There was another unaccounted for, but Koyi could assume that the blurrg wouldn't last long if it were alive. She patted the nose of the lone survivor. She walked behind Din and Cara, her hand hovering over the kid's capsule. Exhaustion was present in her bones and muscles, but she was able to brush it off. Instead, she only focused on moving forward. The gratitude Greef Karga felt after the Child had healed him was undoubted.

"You think they're having second thoughts?" Cara asked.

"Could be. I need your eyes." He turned his head slightly. "Koyi, I need you to be alert."

"I'm watching."

"I always am," Koyi responded.

The nearer they got to the town the more Koyi recognized things. Of course, she hadn't been here a lot, not enough to name locations or types of rocks. But she knew the formation of them based on what she saw from the Crest. She, Din, and Cara moved up and walked alongside Greef.

"I guess this is it." Greef looked down at the town. Koyi's lekku twitched. Something was off. Just as she was about to raise an alarm, Greef turned around and fired at his own men. She stood in front of the Child's capsule as Din and Cara had their blasters pointed at the older man. "There's something you should know." He walked forward and turned to one of the bodies, kicking the blaster out of his hand. "The plan was to kill you and take the kid." Koyi kept a close eye on Greef as Kuiil walked over to check the bodies. "But after what happened last night, I couldn't go through with it. Go on. You can gun me down here and now and it wouldn't violate the Code. But if you do, this child will never be safe."

"We'll take our chances." Cara smiled.

"The Imperial client is obsessed with obtaining this asset. You tried to run, but where did it get you?"

"This is ridiculous." Cara cut in once more.

"Perhaps you should let him speak." Kuiil looked at the three of them.

"Why didn't you just kill them earlier?" Koyi walked towards another body, tapping it with the toe of her boot. "There was plenty of time between then and now."

"I couldn't find an opening, " he answered. It was the truth. Satisfied, Koyi stepped away from the body and walked back towards the carrier. "Listen, we all need the client to be eliminated. Let me take the child to him and then you two—"

"No." Din and Koyi answered on the same beat.

"Let's just kill him and get outta here," Cara suggested. Din slowly lowered his blaster.

"He's right."

"What are you doing?"

"As long as the Imp lives, he'll send hunters after the child."

"It's a trap."

"No." Koyi twisted her right lek loosely around her finger. "He's telling the truth, he doesn't like the client either. But we aren't just going to hand you the kid."

"Bring me." Koyi could almost hear the cogs turning as Din formed a plan.

"Bring you?" Greef's brows furrowed, confusion brewing.

"Tell him you captured me. Get me close to him and I'll kill him."

"That's a good idea. Give me your blaster." Din handed it over easily.

"This is insane!" Cara interjected.

"It's the only way," Din reasoned.

"Well, I'm coming with you."
