So what is about to be explained is something that I have 'made-up' since there's no substance that I have found that satisfies me :) So enjoy this chapter because shizzz is going down from here.

"well, there are traces of toxins in your blood stream. Like you were drugged while in the shower. This is no drug that I have seen or heard of before. I've done research on it and nothing comes up.  It appears as if the drug was in the water and your skin absorbed the drug and poisoned you, causing your memory to go blank and you black out. When you arrived here, you were awake and aware of everything, but you have no recollection of anything. So I'm safe to assume that you didn't take in any information about what was going on at the time. Hopefully in time you will regain what happened and an investigation will continue. There are forensics at your place right now testing the water. Hopefully there's a match." He explains to me. I attempt to understand what all happened, but nothing. Just blank.

"Did anyone find my son?" I ask the doctor. He looks puzzled as if Carson wasn't around when everything happened.

"A man claimed to be your husband and took him to him grandparents." The doctor stands up from the bed and turns to walk away. He takes one last look at me then walks away and out into the hallway. I watch him as he walks away into another room.

I grab the phone that is sitting next to me and I dial Nathaniel's number. He doesn't answer, so I dial again and again. In five minutes i have called him 20 times. No answer each time.

I give up and call Peyton. He answers, but doesn't say anything. All I hear is breathing.

"Peyton?" I ask him. Still nothing.

"Where is Carson?!" I yell through the phone. He hangs up and I drop the phone. My chest tightens, not allowing me to be able to breathe. I begin to hyperventilate and cry. I have no control over my body. This can't be real.

The monitor starts to beep faster and faster, alerting that my heart rate is higher than it needs to be. Doctors and nurses rush into my room and attempt to calm me down. Eventually one of the nurses gives me some sedative and I fall asleep, again.

There's two officers hanging out in my room, waiting for me to wake up. I'm calm now, and not as worried, but I need to find my baby. I need to know that he's safe and that he's being taken care of. He's just four and he needs someone he trusts. Someone who loves him.

"Good afternoon Dakota. I'm officer Harris, and this is officer Jarron. We will be working your case and catching who did this to you. Now I understand that there's a child involved as well?" He asks me. He's holding a small notebook in his hand, and a pen in the other. I nod my head yes. He take snote of my answer then start asking me more questions. Each question he asks, I answer. He jots down three pages worth of information.

I take a god look at him, and like what I see. He's young, and handsome. He appears to be muscular, which indicates that he's strong. His voice is smooth and charming. He has dimples when he smiles, and he has a certain look for when he's concentrating. His hair is blonde, but his eyes are brown. Officer Jarron is quiet and just witnesses everything. He seems to be NAthaniels age, but mmore professional and respectable.

I flash him a smile. He hands Officer Jarron his notebook and asks him to enter the information into the computer. Jarron walks away and leaves us alone in the room. I sit up and watch Harris as he sits down across from me. He stares at me before asking a personal question.

'So, you're married?" His voice is a bit higher than usual, but maybe he's nervous or something.

"Used to be. Now I'm divorced with a child who isn't biologically mine and someone who i thought had a thing for me is just some creep who's friends with the ex." I explain briefly. He chuckles to himself and crosses one leg over the other. I look down at his waist to see thathe has a gun and a baton on one side and a flashlight on the other.

"That's quite a story." He sounds shocked, but I ignore it.

"What about you. Are you married?"  I ask back. He laughs and shakes his head no.

"Never have." I nod my head then turn on the tv to extinguish the awkwardness between us. Maybe because he's attrictive it's weirding me out or making me seem awkward. I leave CMT on and listen to the music. A nurse enters the room with a tray of food for me. I'm not growing an appetite for what i see, so I beg for a strawberry smoothie. She doesn't argue with me and walks back to the kitchen, I'm assuming.

"Are you really 20?" Harrison asks me. I nod my head. Do a background check on me if you want to. I have nothing to hide. Plus, I'm a detective too. I have to keep a clean plate." I wink at him, then I realize I should tone down the flirting. He wouldn't be interested in a woman who's messed up not only emotionally but mentally. Who would want to date someone who has anxiety, well, doesn't understand what life is like with anxiety.

"I believe you. I'm 26." He doesn't look that old himself. He looks like he's maybe 21, 22. Not 25.

"26 years old, not married and no kids. Why such a long wait?" Maybe that's a little too personal, but I don't care. I'm just trying to keep my mind off of Carson.

"Haven't found the one." I have a feeling he's being totally honest with me.

"What's your first name?"

"Spencer." He curls a smile on one side of his lips. He looks down then jumps up from the chair when Jarron walks in.

"Everything is in the computer. We found both of the suspects location and we should probably go help out." Jarron walks out and didn't even look at me. Harris smiles towards me then begins to leave the room.

"nice meeting you ma'am." Then he follows behind Jarron to fight crime.
