'THUD'
Your eyes shot open from the sudden interaction, but only to be met with nothing but blur.
'Shit, my glasses.'
You squatted down and your hands began tapping around the pavement, blindly searching for your glasses. To make matters worse it was dark out so it wasn't helping the fact that you couldn't see.
'I knew I should've just worn my contacts instead today.'
Suddenly, you felt the familiar sides of your glasses being slid onto your face. Your eyes blinked as they readjusted to a now clear view. You could make out a male figure. This guy was squatting down like you were and his fingers were still holding onto your glasses frame.
Letting go of your glasses, he was the first to stand fully up, you following his movements.
"Uh, thanks. I should be apologizing as well because I wasn't being aware of my surroundings."
"So apologize then," was the first thing he said, catching you off guard with his cold words. He stuffed his hands into his pockets and waited for you to respond.
"Right...I'm sorry," you said. From what you could make out in the dark, the man had black hair and bright blue eyes that you found fascinating. He also had patches of purple skin covering him in some places.
The guy looked down at the object in his hand. "This yours?" he asked looking back to you, slightly waving the book he was holding.
"Oh, yeah. That's mine." His eyes looked down at your bag that was still laying on the floor. He took notice of the amount of books that had escaped it. His eyes glanced up at the bookstore you both were standing not too far from.
"So what, robbing a book store, I suppose?" The man questioned jumping to conclusion of the situation. Your eyes went wide as your hands frantically waved in front of you.
"What no! I just work there. Believe me, I'm no thief," you said hoping he would trust your honest words. The last thing you wanted was for him to call the police on you for being a mistaken 'thief.' He hummed in response while taking another glance at the book that was still in his hand before handing it to you.
You gently took it from him. He took another glance at the store and then back at you before walking away. You stood there frozen for a couple of seconds before squatting down to pick up your bag along with the other books. You turned around to see the mysterious man out of your sight and no trace of where he once was.
Your steps were the only sound you could hear again. You felt your body being engulfed in the silence once more as you continued your way home.

'RingRingRing...Ring Ring Ring...Ring Ring Ri-'
"Hello?" You answered your phone without taking a double look at it like you normally would. Your morning voice was present as you spoke into the device.
"Y/n! Hey girl!" After hearing the familiar voice, you pulled your phone away from your ear to take a quick look at the time at the top of the screen.
"Bonny, it's 6:24 in the morning. Please tell me you're calling for a good reason." You continued to lay in bed while wrapping yourself more into your comforter. Your apartment was always freezing in the morning and you were just wearing booty shorts along with a light hoodie.
Bonny chuckled nervously into the phone. "Yes, it is very important. So, do you have any plans for today?" You could already tell where this conversation was heading.
"Yes, I'm working today." You heard an exaggerated groan on the other side of the line.
"But, you're always working!"
"I love my job."
"Well, what time are you getting off today?" Bonny asked still not giving up yet.
"The store closes at 8:30 pm daily, so around then. Why?"
"Lets go clubbing tonight!"
"No thanks."

"Oh yes!" Ms. Chester said with a smile on her face. It was 8:05 pm currently and Bonny just had to make a visit at your workplace, claiming that she had been begging all day for you to hang out with her tonight.
Once she explained her plan to Ms. Chester, the old lady became thrilled. "That is a great idea! Y/n darling you should go out and have fun, enjoy yourself for once!"
"But I do enjoy myself whenever I'm here," you gestured to the bookstore the three of you stood in. Bonny and Ms. Chester exchanged a look of unpleasantness.
"Y/n, if you don't go and hang out with your friends tonight, then I'll fire you, end of the discussion," the old lady said with a straight face. Your jaw dropped, hearing your boss threaten you if you don't go out and 'have fun.' You sighed and decided it was best not to argue.
