"I already told you no," Y/n said and pressed her fingers to her head. "It's too risky and if I remember correctly, they aren't coming after you."

"He's begging for us to take this job. Just one hit and we'll be out. Think about it, boss," Patrick said and shrugged his shoulders.

"You do realize, that if they track you down for this hit, they'll come after my fucking ass. We're not doing it. It's too risky right now," Y/n said and took a deep breath to calm herself down.

"Boss—"

"Jesus fucking Christ," Y/n said and stood up. The men in the room were terrified of what was going to happen. The woman had a short fuse with a massive bang to it. "We're talking about the man who ratted me out! They're going to fucking know it was me! And then what! All of you would be out of work because I'd be rioting in a prison somewhere! I'm not going to prison and I sure as hell am not going to risk it for a measly two hundred thousand! Tell Jay it's not happening and to fuck off."

The woman didn't say anything else as she walked out of the room. All of the men that worked for her just looked back and forth between the other. They opted to drop the subject.

Lauren was in the kitchen when she heard the loud booming voice of the woman. That was a first time she had heard her yell. The brunette woman finished the fruit bowl she was eating before heading over to look for Y/n.

Lauren walked into the living room. She was about to ask where Y/n was but she saw the figure of the woman walking through the garden. The brunette woman made her way to the door and received looks of caution and confusion from the men in the room. Liam and Patrick specifically watched her like a hawk.

Lauren made her way towards the woman who now settled herself on the side of the pool with her feet dipped in. She carefully slipped off her shoes and made her way towards the pool.

"You aren't very sneaky. Your loud footsteps give you away every time," Y/n said over her shoulder. Lauren pursed her lips as she sat down right next to Y/n.

"Are you okay?" Lauren asked as she placed both her feet in the water. "I heard your shouts through the house. I just wanted to check up on you."

Y/n sighed as she looked over at Lauren. "You'd be the first. I'm surprised Liam didn't send you out here with a fire extinguisher and a fire suit."

"Why would he do that?" Lauren asked as she furrowed her eyebrows. Y/n tilted her head to the side.

"Let's just say I'm not the best when it comes to controlling my anger," Y/n said and moved her eyes forward to the water. Lauren understood immediately. "I'm trying to get better at it. Key word is trying."

"Do you want me to take your mind off of it?" Lauren asked and bit the corner of her lip. "I mean. I have a drop to go pick up. The two of us can sneak away together."

"As much as I'd like that, the boys won't ever leave me alone," Y/n said and rolled her eyes. Lauren glanced back at the windows looking to the outside. Sure enough, Liam and Patrick were there watching over them.
