Chanhee watched as Eric pulled out the chair for him to sit on. Chanhee put on an awkward smile as he sat down. Eric pushed the chair in as he did so.
Eric sat down beside him and pulled out his book. He looked excited for someone who was going to have a lesson. Chanhee was puzzled for more than one reason.
First of all, why was Eric not yet saying anything about a boyfriend? Secondly, what was their relationship then? Thirdly, how the hell did he manage to become a Korean language tutor?
Chanhee was sure he never knew Eric before. And now, this foreign kid was asking for Korean lessons. Chanhee couldn't utter a word as Eric flipped open a book.
"Here, hyung. We stopped at this page the day before."
"Oh, ok."
Eric grinned as Chanhee peeked at the book. He held back himself from squishing his cheeks when Chanhee squinted his eyes at the book. He straightened up when Chanhee turned to him.
"Usage of pronouns?"
"Yep! It is confusing for me." Eric pouted.
"Oh, I guess it could be confusing for a foreigner." Chanhee said, scratching his neck.
Eric nodded. So, Chanhee started teaching him the chapter. He only had experience tutoring juniors at college. Eric seemed to follow well even though he still shad some slurs in his pronunciation.
"No, Eric. Try saying it like this. 'Nae kkeoh-e-yo'." Chanhee said, enunciating the word precisely.
"Nae kkeoh-e-yo..... what does it mean again?" Eric grinned sheepishly.
"It means 'mine' as in 'That book is mine'. That's formal speech and in informal speech, it's can be said as just 'nae kkeoh'." Chanhee explained.
"Oh, then I can say 'nae kkeoh' to you?"
"Huh? Why to me?" Chanhee frowned in confusion.
"Cause you are mine!" Eric beamed.
Chanhee choked on thin air. He blinked a couple of times before actually confirming what he just heard.
".....Pardon?" Chanhee coughed out.
"Aren't you? You're my tutor and hyung so you are mine!" Eric's eyes were as innocent as ever.
"Ohhhh, yeah, yeah. You're right. Yeah..." Chanhee smiled wryly and turned away.
He flipped through the textbook, pretending to look for the answer key. Eric smiled cheekily at his tutor. He quietly smirked to himself as he jotted down his notes. He kept glancing at Chanhee once in a while as he continued answering his questions. Chanhee seemed to be focused on learning the next questions so he could explain them to Eric.
Eric stared at the side profile of Chanhee, unconsciously biting onto the cap of his pen. His eyes trailed from Chanhee's fluffy hair to his cute tiny ears to his clear eyes to his pale cheeks to his boopable nose to his plump pink lips. Oh, Eric wished he was biting onto something else other than his pen.
"Knock, knock. Sorry to interrupt your tutoring session." Seonghwa smirked at Eric who gave him an annoyed look, "But Chanhee, I need you to help me sort out some lists."
"Sure." Chanhee nodded and turned to Eric who immediately put on a smile, "Eric, make sure to finish all the questions. You better get everything correct. I'll check it afterwards."
"If I don't?" Eric asked with a cheeky pout.
"You're getting extra homework as punishment." Chanhee pointed a finger at him sternly. Eric gulped. He moved Chanhee's finger away, holding his hands in the process and grinned at him.
