Chanhee followed Jacob as he led him to the greenhouse for the flowers. He looked around in awe at the beautiful arrangement of flowers all over the place. He couldn't help the wide smile as his eyes feasted on the view.
Jacob stopped and glanced back. He smiled when he saw Chanhee lost in his own world. His eyes raked up and down Chanhee's side profile. Chanhee didn't seem out of place among the flowers. He looked like he belonged here in the greenhouse with all the other flowers.
Jacob wouldn't mind taking care of a flower like Chanhee.
"This is nice." Chanhee commented, still looking at the flowers.
"It sure is." Jacob chuckled.
He gestured towards a bunch of flowers grouped together and turned to Chanhee.
"So what kind of bouquet are you looking for?" Jacob asked.
"It's for tomorrow. We're getting a couple of kids and doing a sort of fun story-telling time." Chanhee explained.
"Oh?"
"Yes, so flowers that don't get really damaged, please."
Chanhee pouted when Jacob laughed at Chanhee's request. Jacob shook his head in an apologetic manner.
"Sorry. But flowers are flowers. You'd need plastic ones for that." He said.
"I know. I meant ones that don't wilt easily or stuff like that." Chanhee mumbled.
"Then what about some wildflowers? Easy to organize and decorate." Jacob suggested.
"Sure. What kinds do you have?"
"Many. Here are some Freesias, Daisies, Marigolds......" Jacob's words trailed off when Chanhee stepped near to peek at the flowers.
Jacob could smell Chanhee's peach scented lotion as the librarian bend down to sniff at the flowers. He paused to stare at Chanhee's hair. He had the urge to pat it down like he'd do to his puppy. Wait, what?
"These would be nice." Chanhee said, standing straight.
"S-Sure." Jacob averted eye contact, "What time do you want them at the library?"
"I, wait, how'd you know?" Chanhee asked in genuine confusion.
Jacob turned to him and smiled.
"I see you walk past everyday. And I... kind of..." Jacob hesitated. Then he stopped talking and rubbed his nape with a chuckle, "Never mind. Will that be all?"
"Umm... that's for tomorrow. I'd also like to get a bouquet for the reception desk. My colleague wants a change or whatever." Chanhee grumbled.
"Flowers always make everything better." Jacob grinned.
"They do look pretty. But really though?" Chanhee said doubtfully.
Jacob tilted his head at Chanhee's words. He stared at Chanhee who was looking away at the flowers again. He nodded slowly.
"Yeah, a particular flower certainly made my morning a whole lot better." Jacob said.
"What flower is it?" Chanhee said in curiosity.
Jacob let out a knowing smile and shook his head. He walked out of the greenhouse and Chanhee followed again. Chanhee was a bit annoyed that Jacob didn't answer. Jacob walked to the register. Chanhee paused in front as another man walked in. Chanhee blinked as he looked between Jacob and the newcomer.
"That's my brother, Jeffrey." Jacob explained.
Chanhee let out a quiet 'oh'. The two brothers were talking to each other in English and Chanhee stood by. He glanced at them and nodded to himself as he turned around. It was uncanny. The two looked so much alike.
