(Tw: Mention of unalive (not sewerslide tho))
Roman had taken the chance to have a nap while Virgil was asleep and they slept for around 45 minutes, until they were both shocked awake. The noise didn't help Virgil's headache and Roman couldn't even tell what it was until a minute after waking up.
But when he did, it was clear what was going on.
Someone was arguing downstairs. Very loudly."Do you have any idea of what these are doing to Virgil!?" Someone yelled, and Roman figured that it was Logan.
"Logan, please! Stop shouting so loudly!" Came Patton's voice, loud enough for them to hear but distincly quieter than Logan's voice. "You'll wake Roman and Virgil."
There were a few moments of silence (at least from what Roman could hear) before shouting erupted again.
"Can't be too bad!? Virgil is lying upstairs, dying!" Logan shouted.Roman let out an audible gasp and looked down at Virgil.
Said small, anxious male was huddling into Roman, tears in his eyes.
The prince felt an urge inside him, an instinctive urge to protect the man next to him, so that's what he did. He carefully wrapped his arms around Virgil and covered his ears.
"Don't listen to them, Virge, okay...? I'm here, I won't let you die... I promise..." Roman whispered softly to him.
Virgil just nodded and kept close to him."You need to stop this now, Thomas, before it gets worse! Give them to me."
...
"Give them to me now!"
...
"You can manage perfectly fine without them, now give them here!"
...
"See, that wasn't so hard, was it?"
...
"Exactly. Now get..." Logan's voice returned to an inside level, and so Roman couldn't hear anymore. He looked down to Virgil and gasped when he saw he was having a silent panic attack."Hey, hey, Virge, it's okay..." Roman took his hands away from Virgil's ears. "They're not arguing, it's okay..."
"Th-They were... O-O-Over me..." Virgil whimpered quietly.
"Only because we want you to get better. Logan just wanted to stop whatever was making you be this sick, it's nothing bad..."
Virgil nodded and began making more of an effort to calm down, which wasn't much given his lack of energy. Once he did, however, he was extremely tired, but not to the point where he could fall asleep. The anxious trait rested his head on Roman's shoulder and just cuddled into him.
Roman kept one arm wrapped around him at all times. After a couple of minutes, Logan was standing in the doorway and knocked on the door. He looked composed, as if a big argument hadn't just taken place, except from the red flush in his cheeks.
"Hey, Logan." Roman greeted. "You okay? We heard you shouting downstairs..."
"Yes. That. I figured out what was wrong with Virgil." Logan said, his voice sounding a bit exasperated. "Thomas has been taking anti-anxiety medication."Roman's jaw dropped. "You mean... Thomas... did this to Virgil...?"
"Unfortunately, it appears so." Logan said, taking a deep breath.Roman looked at Virgil, and he could fell his heart breaking in two when he saw the tear running down the smaller man's cheek. He gently wiped it away with his thumb.
"It's okay, Virge... Thomas wouldn't have done this knowingly..."
But even as the Prince said it, he couldn't help but feel some resentment towards his host."Hey, Logan?" Roman asked. "Could you look after Virgil for a bit? I- uh... Have something to do..."
Logan didn't question what Roman said. "Yes, of course. I'll take him to my room. Only if it's okay with you, Virgil."
Roman looked to Virgil. "Sorry, should've asked first. Is it okay?"
Virgil nodded, too tired to come up with an argument as to why he wanted to stay with Roman other than him just simply wanting too."Are you able to stand?" Logan asked, coming around to the side of the bed.
Virgil shook his head. He couldn't even sit up without needing support, let alone being able to walk.
"Are you okay with me picking you up and carrying you to my room?"
Virgil nodded again, and let go of Roman so that Logan could do that.
The logical side picked Virgil up, definitely noticing his light weight but not commenting on it. "How long do you think you'll be, Roman?"Roman thought for a second. "I'm... not entirely sure... I'll come and get Virgil when I'm done, unless it goes on into the late evening, then I'll just let him sleep in your room, if that's okay?"
Logan nodded. "Okay. Goodbye." He said and took Virgil out of the prince's room to his own.Roman closed the door and waited a few seconds to make sure they were gone. He then changed his pyjamas (he hadn't gotten changed yet) into his usual Prince outfit, but this time attached a sheath to his belt and stored his sword in there. Only then, after double checking to make sure the coast is clear, he opened one of his closet doors and pushed all of the hanging clothes to the side. Behind them sat an intricately detailed doorway.
Roman waved his hand in front of it and, like magic, it filled with a white glow. The prince stepped in, showing none of the fear that he held inside. The glow of the doorway faded as soon as he stepped through, the clothes moved back to their original position and the closet doors closed behind him, leaving no trace of it existing.
