Concocting the cure

Roman didn't get back into his room until around 11:30pm, and he started to feel the fatigue attacking him. He deemed it too late to get Virgil, but not too late to start brewing the potion. Being as quiet as possible, Roman grabbed his kettle (he had a desk just for coffee making) and made his way downstairs to the kitchen where he got some water for the tea and extra to combine the other ingrediants. He also got some sugar, baking soda and vanilla extract.
He also took a few of the large, resealable Monster energy drinks, because he couldn't drink coffee in bulk.

After getting back into his room, closing and locking the door, the prince laid out everything he had in the order that he would need it.
He opened one of his closets, pushed back the clothes and pushed in the wall at the back, revealing a secret cupboard. Inside was a couple things, but the biggest was a large black cauldron.

Roman heaved it out and put it down in front of his fireplace, making sure to stay silent. He lifted the top of the fireplace and leaned it back against the wall and opened the vent so that the smoke would be extracted.
He got a nice blaze going and put the cauldron on top, as it was a perfect size to sit on top of the flames. Pouring the water in and waiting for it to boil, he started up the kettle to make his first cup of coffee. Luckily, it was a good one he'd made and didn't make much noise at all. Certainly not enough to wake someone else.

The kettle boiled before the water in the cauldron, so he made his coffee and placed the mug on his desk to cool a bit.
The water had just started to boil so Roman opened his potion book and got to the recipe that would work best, and used all of the ingrediants.

First he had to add the moli, as the longer it was hot, the less poison was in the juice inside. Roman let them sit for a little while before getting his mixing spoon and crushing them to release said juice. The water turned a rather aesthetically pleasing deep blue.
Next was the camomile. The prince put half of them in to release the flavour while he grounded the others in a bowl to release their healing factors. He fished out the whole flowers before adding the ground ones.

As the creative side let them simmer in the potion, he began to cut up the danganpranhia into small chunks, binning the skin. He poured the last bit of spare water that hadn't been boiled in the kettle into another bowl and mixed in some sugar. He poured the fruit pieces into the bowl so that they dissolved.
He got out a 4 sided cheese grater and used the side with the tiny holes to grate the ginger, the tiny pieces going straight into the potion.

Roman was careful to follow the instructions next, not that he hadn't been already. He drank some coffee to wake himself up and began stirring the potion. 5 clockwise turns, 2 anti-clockwise stirs, 5 clockwise, 2 anti-clockwise. Eventually, it became the light lilac colour depicted in the book.

He checked on the danganpranhia chunks and found that they had gone soft, so he crushed them into the sugar water to help it dissolve, then poured it into the potion. He then had to leave it for 2 hours while it simmered, but he couldn't just take a nap. He had to watch the potion to make sure it didn't go wrong. If the moli reacted poorly, the potion would become severly poisonous. It was a 50/50 chance, really. There wasn't too much that could be done to negate it, except for the sugar water with the danganpranhia. Even then, it didn't do much. Just made the chances slightly better.

Roman took the time to get changed into his pyjamas and put on a new cup of coffee, boiling the water again to warm it up. He rinsed out his mug in the bathroom and filled it with coffee, taking it to his bed and placing it on his bedside table. Roman turned on the lamp on his other bedside table and turned off the large light. The dimmer light had a more homey feel, Roman felt.

While waiting for the potion to finish simmering in the fruit, he got a book and began reading. It was a modern written version of Romeo and Juliette. He couldn't help himself. He'd read that book over and over again, imagining him with the man he'd had a hopeless crush on for the last two years or so. He imagined them holding each other and cuddling. He could easily imagine himself as Romeo and his crush as a male Juliette in the smexy scene, but only when he was in that mood, which wasn't a lot of the time. He prized a romantic relationship the most, and a sexual one as a bonus.
However, he could never bring himself to read the end. He couldn't bare to think of losing his loved one. He couldn't bare losing any of the famILY, but this man- he wouldn't be able to live with himself if it happened, even if it wasn't the prince's own fault.
So, he never read it. He only read the happy scenes, to keep himself happy just fantasizing and not being able to have the man of his dreams.

Roman was lost in one of those daydreams as his two hour timer on his phone went off. He quickly turned it off to avoid waking Patton, who was on the other side of the wall (even though all the rooms were mostly soundproofed). Smelling the flowery fagrance coming from the potion, one matching the description in the book, he smiled softly to himself. He added two antidote herb leaves to help the healing effect, and put the lid on the cauldron and put the fire on a low heat, just to keep the potion warm as the leaves dissolved and did their magic, knowing the potion had gone perfectly.

By that time, it was around 5am and Roman didn't see much point in trying to sleep. Patton would be up in an hour, Logan in an hour and a half. He usually woke up half an hour after Logan, so that gave him two hours until he had to be awake. He knew he wouldn't get to sleep quick enough to get a decent amount of sleep (not that two hours is decent anyway) so he decided to stay up, using caffeine, rather than fall asleep and be stupidly tired.

Roman opened up YouTube on his laptop and plugged in the headphones. He finished off his coffee and grabbed a Monster can before getting comfortable and playing the first video.

He couldn't wait to give the potion to Virgil and see him feeling better.

Well, a longer one today, but hey! You got a potions lesson out of it! (Please do not try this at home, three of the ingredients are made up and the real ones would probably just make a disgusting mess-)
