Catra pressed the beds of her hands against the back of the chair, her claws carving 'delicate' artworks into the timber frame, almost as if it was a threat; if Harley didn't do what Catra wanted, there would be consequences.
So Harley did as she was told, offering Catra a suspicious glare as she stumbled into the chair, clutching the gripping pain that racked through her side, and Catra's hands fell upon Harley's shoulders, shiny, black nails shredding through the thin layer of Harley's work shirt.
"What happened to getting some rest, Princess?" Catra questioned, lowering her head to Harley's height, her breath warm against the curve of Harley's ear and the girl shivered, imagining the glow of Catra's eyes-- turquoise and amber-- on her.
Harley wondered whether she made Catra as flustered and ~~gay~~ as Catra made her, but then she laughed. There was no way in hell Catra would be flustered by Harley.
"What's so funny?" The cat-girl hissed and Harley shook her head, shrugging.
"Oh it's nothing, really. And also, I already told you, I wanted some fresh air!" Harley chuckled, flinging her head back so she could stare up into Catra's eyes.
She didn't look particularly happy.
From this angle and in this harsh, dramatic light, Harley could see the bags under Catra's red-rimmed eyes-- purple against her brown skin-- and Harley's face softened. Although Catra hadn't been the nicest to Harley, she was still fascinated by her and Harley was never really one for kicking someone when they were down either.
"You don't look so great," She spoke up and Catra frowned.
"Thanks, I really appreciate it, Princess!" She snarled and Harley righted herself, spinning around in the chair so she could look at Catra head-on.
"Do you... Want to talk about it?" Harley added and the withering glare she received next was her answer, "Well, what other questions did you have for me, Force Captain Catra?"
The force captain sized Harley up, gleaming multicoloured eyes roving over her scrupulously and she squatted down to level herself with Harley, Catra's eyes never leaving hers.
"Where are you from, Princess?" She asked her and Harley gave her a bored look.
"Melbourne,"
"Where?", Catra was taken aback, arching one perfect eyebrow up.
"It's a city. In Australia. You sure you've never heard of it? It's kinda famous..." Harley questioned and Catra's eyes narrowed to slits.
"I don't believe you."
"You-- what!? I- Uh- Mm- I..." Harley stammered, eyebrows knitting together and she let out a little 'o' noise, "You're one of those people who think that Australians are actors, aren't you? Well as interesting as that would make us, we're not actors and you should direct your attention to Tasmanians, they're the real actors--"
"I don't know what you're talking about, Princess," Catra hissed through bared teeth and Harley couldn't do anything but stare at her pearly white fangs and gorgeous eyes.
'The angrier she gets, the cuter she is' Harley thought, her eyes the size of the moon and mouth agape. Then she added: 'This woman is going to turn me into a furry, I swear to God'
"Where are you actually from?" Catra pressed her and Harley sighed as Catra's frown deepened to a deathly glower.
"I dunno what else to tell you, Force Captain. You could beat me senseless, give me some truth serum, whatever, my answer would still be the same--"
