~House but not a home~
Adorning over green hills and stretching out over vast lands, the Black Residence shone in the morning sun. The mansion was all beige stone and tall windows which mirrored the mountains in the distance. It had a strange smell of serenity and gave Delilah the feeling she was in a fairytale. She expected the Black Mansion to be nested in the centre of dark and dense woodlands, with crows lurking over it and gargoyles at the front entrance. She wasn't entirely wrong as the Blacks reeked of old money and had multiple residences, however, Hydra happened to live on the largest and most beautiful domain.
Delilah sat down at a white round table, placed on the enormous terrace and watched Hydra doing her morning practice. The girl sipped her tea and hid her hands in the sweater's arms, shivering from the cold wind.
Hydra, on the other side, was dressed in a pair of grey sweatpants and a thin black t-shirt, running lapses around the huge garden. The Black's backyard was bigger than a professional quidditch pitch and more beautiful than the British royal gardens. The Hufflepuff was astonished by the mesmerising beauty of the domain, finding herself lost in the enchanting horizon.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Arcturus' voice startled her and the man laughed at her panicked face. "I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
"It is alright, I was distracted by the surroundings. You have a delightful house, sir." Delilah smiled politely in an attempt to cover her nervousness.
Last night, Hydra's parents weren't surprised to see their daughter being accompanied, on the contrary, they were happy to meet one of her friends. At least, that was what they displayed, but deep down, Delilah felt prejudiced by them. She knew they were fanatics over blood purity and that only made her uncomfortable around them.
Arcturus seemed to be more of a welcoming and sociable person, as Melania didn't care to spend much time with their guest. The witch was mad at her daughter and unlike her husband, she couldn't put on a mask and pretend nothing was wrong.
On one side she wanted to yell at Hydra for being so discourteous the previous day, but on the other side, she was worried about what punishment was waiting for the young witch.
