(Usually) A story begins at the beginning, the middle or the end.
This story starts at the beginning ‘and’ the end.
I have an involuntary spasm
which can most aptly be classified as flying castles.
I call it The couch phenomenon.
I’m pretty sure you remember the first time you said that you love me.
Our eyes were an inch apart and lips less so.
I was supposed to be on the door, holding you all tight,
one final kiss for the night.
Believe me, I tried hard to stop at your lips.
I could hear you chuckle before,
I was sliding under the slips.
Under heavy breaths, you whispered, “I love you,
‘ love you. I have said it, but you’ll say when you want to “
And I said,” Eventually, I might understand what love is.
But I’m pretty sure what I feel right now isn’t any lesser”,
in my noggin’.
Actually, I kissed you again
I’m pretty sure you remember the hug on the bench.
The one at the end of the narration of my dark times.
I wanted to cry for all the missed times.
But I didn’t.
Because when you find a woman who demands a goodbye kiss
Tears bow out of respect.
I kidn’t.
I’m pretty sure you remember the day when I was dramatizing our story.
In a small setting between friends.
I was sitting on a couch telling them,
How your nervousness doesn’t hide the cuteness
when you cover your cheeks in tension.
How you smile as you cook for me in expectation.
How creepily you were smiling at me after our first sleepover, in completion.
How you fight for your opinion, with patience, until correction.
Don’t worry, if you don’t.
I’m pretty sure you don’t remember this one.
You can’t read minds yet.
But hey, hey you got it.
Why The couch phenomenon is such a bliss.
You told me to say it when I am ready.
But I am in a quantum state.
Living in the now
and thousands of days into our fate.
Though now, I haven’t had a clue,
I’m pretty sure I have said it, by then, to you.
I love you.
