*Third persons POV*
The time passed slowly Vlaire was looking around standing behind the counter as she prepares the hot mocha and a slice of carrot cake that had been ordered while Jake and Valorie were taking the customer's orders. She rang the service bell signaling she was done preparing the orders as Jake hurriedly crossed the room to take it. Valorie went to the counter handing me a new order written on a piece of paper from her notepad. I nodded and as I did she again went back to entertain new customers.
The snow still flows endlessly outside the cafe window. Yet the road was still busy, cars driving past the cafe people walking on the sidewalk. The cafe was packed in no time around 2 pm. It was now quarter past 2. The cafe was once again filled with people talking to one another, some people who read a book, some who use their laptops, and those who are hanging out or catching up with someone. The cafe stereos were playing the latest released song making the Musicophiles love it.But just as how busy and cheerful Vlaire's surroundings are she wasn't feeling it. Not being able to think straight. All Vlaire could think of was the massive headache that she feels.
Little did She know the tea she was pouring into the cup had been flowing onto the table. Causing the man in his late forties dressed in a formal suit- who was just sitting in his chair enjoying the warm melody playing in the cafe reading what seems like a document- Was now fuming with anger. She went back to reality when she heard the man yelling at her. Cursing her even.
"I... I'm... S...Sorry Sir" she apologized. Nervously she quickly went to the counter to take some towels and went back to the table of the guy. After crossing the hall she was about to give the towel to him and was about to attempt wiping the coffee off his suit when he grabbed her hand roughly causing her to drop the towel. She whimpered in pain.
"Don't touch me you piece of sh*t! You can't even do your job properly!" He said yelling making the people eating inside the cafe looked at them. Some were concerned some looked at her disappointedly like it was her fault. A group of friends who were seated near them was shocked, afraid rather. But those people didn't do anything to help. I mean what could they do? He's a big man. They also might be afraid to get involved plus it seems like this guy is an influential man. "I... I... I'm... Sorry... Please let me go... It hurts" she said whimpering. Her eyes were starting to tear up from the pain since the man was holding her hand roughly.
"How do you think am I supposed to attend my business meeting in this situation? Huh!" She was about to apologize again but then he cut her off. "Your sorry cant solve anything you dumb useless sh*t!" This time she was already crying. Tears cascaded down her face.
The man was about to say something again when a strong first hit his face.
"Let her go you Old a*s!" He said through gritted teeth. The cafe was then filled with gasps and whispers from the customers "That man deserves it how can he do that to a poor girl" an old woman from the left side table said.
"Oooh, a knight in shining armor. How romantic" One of the girls sitting near them who was with her group of friends said. The person who hitter him hitter his face hard making the guy loosen his grip making her almost stumble. It's a good thing she was able to keep her balance. An old woman who was with his husband quickly helped her and let her take a seat at their table.
"Thank you grandma" she whispered not having the strength to do anything. Her hands still shaking in fear. The old woman must have noticed since she hold her hand and caressed it she just smiled warmly. "Don't worry everything will be alright" she said in an assuring tone.
Vlaire looked up to see who it was. When she saw it was Jake. Their eyes met. His eyes didn't have that glint and warm stare anymore it was replaced with a dark stare it was so intense that she didn't recognize it.
The man looked at Jake intently. He wiped the blood on his lips "Who do you think you are boy?!" He yelled "I don't think you deserve to know my name" Jake retorted "You Scumbag!" The man yelled and was about to punch Jake, good thing he was fast enough to dodge it just in time.
"Oh You're good, but let's see how long you'll be able to dodge my fist," He said smirking. Valorie who now just went out of the locker room since she excused herself fifteen minutes ago since her grandma's video calling her-was shocked at the sight. She immediately crossed the room and went beside Vlaire who was looking very pale and had tears in her eyes and was seating with an old couple.
"Vlaire What happened???" She asked she looked down at Vlaire's hand and saw a bruise in it. The sight of jake fighting with a grown man now makes sense to her. Anger took over her "STOP!" She yelled at jake and the guy, but mostly to the guy.
"Stop now!" She yelled at the guy who was about to punch jake again. "Can someone call the police" the mans face twitched when he heard what Valorie said not believing what he just heard.
"THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! It's not my fault! I'm gonna sue this Cafe!" the man said in pure disbelief. "I Believe you have fault though and the people here saw what you did and still you're going to deny it?" He retorted. "You hit me first!" The guy yelled. "Because you're hurting a lady!" Jake replied. The man hasn't been able to answer back.
