Chapter three

I can see him smiling slightly but I can see a hint of surprise and sadness in his eyes. Though I'm confused as to why he's sad, but pushed the thoughts since its not my place and I can't judge him, plus he must be going through something

It's the first time I saw him here. I saw him standing up and went up to the counter. where I was, I can't lie I was a bit intimidated, I mean who wouldn't he's just really attractive and intriguing

He smiled " Hi" he greeted smiling not in a creepy way but in an attractive way, though he's not trying to. it's just wow, I can't even explain, my heart did a skipped beat, like god what is wrong with me? I just met him and I never felt this before. Not even to Jake though I like him.

" Uhm... I was wondering where I can find this place" he asked letting me see an address on his phone." I made an o-face I told him it was 3 streets away from here and that he might need to hire a taxi, he nodded he again looked at my eyes, I felt butterflies on my stomach.

Smiling when our eyes met, our eyes locked for a few minutes until it was cut off when we heard a cough "ehem" It was Jake I didn't hear him went towards us " Vlaire is there something wrong here?" Jake asked protectively I quickly broke our eye contact and shook my head

"No it's fine Jake, there isn't," I said I can see Jake and the guy giving each other glares " Uhm Jake?" I said, "Don't you have something else to do?" I asked pointing at the tray he's holding and his notepad, he looked at me and glared at the guy while the guy did the same, I have no idea why they're doing that though,

Jake once again looked at me nodding " ill go now. but tell me if something's wrong okay" his expression and voice was now soft, I nodded " I will don't worry Jake " I said, he nodded, with that he went to the room behind the counter which is the kitchen, he'll be making a cake, I guess

I faced the guy again, mouthing sorry
" I'm sorry, he's just like that but he's nice don't worry about him," I said, he nodded and chuckled " is he your boyfriend?" he asked I looked at him surprisingly "Me?" I chuckled "No, he's not my boyfriend, I never had one, I mean I have tried dating some, but I just don't think it's going to work," I said

He mouthed an o " and why is that?" He asked I shrugged " I just don't think they're the one," I said, He nodded "Understandable," he said I feel comfortable talking to him though I just met him, I don't even know his name

" What's your name by the way," he asked as if he was reading my mind and know what I'm thinking " Vlaire... Vlaire Woods I said " you have a beautiful name, he said smiling smiled back. " thanks," I said

" how about you? You're new here right? I haven't seen you here before" I said, he nodded, " I am," he said " I'm just here for a vacation" He continued, I mouthed an o. Disappointed since that means he won't stay here for long and I probably won't see him again but then I nodded. " Oh I see," I said

" I'm Chase Collins by the way," he said smiling " nice to meet you Vlaire," he said shaking my hand, his's hands were surprisingly warm compared to my cold hands. but he doesn't seem to mind.

"By the way, I saw what happen back there, you talked to those girls then got out of hand. I was about to help you but I saw that guy, Jake? That's his name right?" He asked, I nodded slowly " he was protective over you and how he approached us just now. I thought he's your boyfriend," he said. I mouthed an o... that's why he thought jake is my boyfriend

" I went here to ask if your alright," he said I was surprised but then I smiled thankfully " I am, thanks for your concern Chase," I said thanks, he nodded "its fine plus I didn't do anything to help you, I'm sorry," he said apologizing " Nah... don't apologize, it's fine," I said. I saw Valorie approaching the counter.

" hey Vlaire, what's up?" she asked looking at me and Chase in a teasing way " and who is this guy?" She continued " Val you're just in time," I said ignoring what she said " Val this is Chase Collins, Chase this is my Best friend Valorie Grey, and the guy you met was Jake Smith," I said pointing towards jake who was now entertaining some costumers

" Nice to meet you Valorie," Chase said shaking Val's hand " Nice to meet you too Chase" Valorie smiled

" you're new here?" Val asked, Chase, nodded " Yes, I'm here for vacation," he said Val nodded " So... You've met jake?" Val said. Chase nodded"did he do something?" Val asked. Chase chuckled " Nah.. Just intense glares, now and then," he said in a composed manner like it wasn't a big deal he must be used to guys giving him such glares, Since he's attractive

Val laughed " good thing he didn't do something awful," she said laughing " you seem a nice guy," Val said. Chase smiled at her, he then looked at his wristwatch. he frowned and looked at us again he muttered something I didn't understand

"Uhm ... I'm sorry guys, I have to go, it's been nice talking to you girls, and nice meeting you. He said smiling warmly, I nodded sadly he had to go " yeah it's been nice talking to you too, well have a good stay," I said, " yeah have fun!" Val said, Chase, nodded " I will, got to go hope to see you guys again," he said.

He then paid for his drink and food. With that, he left the cafe hearing the old fashion bell.
