Today was the day that Steve was saying goodbye to the one person he had known from his good old times of the nineteen-forties and remained to be alive when he woke up from the ice, Peggy Carter.

Davina knew all about Agent Peggy Carter and she respected the woman even though Davina had never met Peggy for herself, she heard some stories about Peggy through Steve and took his word for it.

Davina had experienced death before, at least the grieving process of death. She didn't want Steve to go through the same thing, well, she didn't want him to go through it alone. Which is why Steve had allowed Davina to sit in the front of the pew, with him and Sam.

As Davina entered the church, Sam looked over at her and sighed, before nodding his head. The tension was high and everyone in the church knew that. Margaret Carter was a respectable woman and Davina had only wished Peggy lived longer to know the woman herself.

"It's always depressing. She was a very important woman in his life. The one person who survived all the chaos. Only for him to lose her a few years later just when he came out of the ice. We just need to be here for him, Sam, no matter what. It's important for Steve to not lose himself." Davina mentioned and Sam nods his head quietly, agreeing with Davina.

"We should take our seats in the pew. Steve will be here soon." Sam mentioned as they reached the front row of the church, sitting in the pew, leaving a gap on Davina's left side for Steve when he comes.

Soon the choir was singing and Steve is one of six pallbearers carrying a coffin draped with the Union Jack. Steve's eyes are red, as he has been crying. Davina saw this and had a small sad smile on her face as the men laid down the casket.

"And now, I would like to invite Sharon Carter to come up and say a few words." The priest mentioned and Sharon came up on the stand as Steve sat next to Davina, grabbing her hand, as a reflex and a moment of comfort. Davina was shocked a little bit, but for the sake of Steve's comfort and sadness, she had allowed it to be.

Steve is looking down and doesn't see Sharon walk up. Sam is watching, and nudges Davina, who sees Sharon and nudges Steve gently. He looks up to see Sharon, who glances at Steve and takes a breath.

"Margaret Carter was known to most as a founder of SHIELD...but I just knew her as Aunt Peggy." Davina noticed that now Steve realizes who exactly Sharon is, and takes a surprised breath. Davina gently squeezes his hand, reassuring him, "She had a photograph in her office. Aunt Peggy standing next to JFK. As a kid, that was pretty cool. But it was a lot to live up to. Which is why I never told anyone we were related," Sharon looks at Steve directly and Davina noticed, as she took in Sharon' words, "I asked her once how she managed to master diplomacy and espionage in a time when no one wanted to see a woman succeed at either. And she said, compromise where you can. But where you can't, don't. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move...it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in they eye and say, No, you move." Sharon said and Davina smiled a little bit as Steve was taking in the words that Sharon was telling everybody.
