Ch.16: Forever (GraLu)

One day, he just left.

Without a word or a hint, he left us all without a look back.

What hit me the most, though, was that he left me. The one he said he loved.

He had told me yesterday that he loved me, that he would never leave my side.

Liar.

He left in the night and nobody would have ever expected it.

Everyone suffered, their shock on their faces, they had thought that he saw them as family.

I thought he saw me as someone special, just like how I thought of him.

I was wrong. I was nothing to him.

I went home and looked at the tiny, but beautiful, ice ring that he made me. He said that it would never melt, just like how our love would never fade.

Why hasn't it melted already?

I was never the same without him there. I became depressed and alone, I could never work with anyone else.

Everyone kept trying to comfort me and kept trying to keep close to me. I just pushed them all away.

Finally they gave up and left me alone. They would only glance at me pityingly now.

It was like the world was "gray" around me without him here, like he had taken all the light.

I was always tempted to throw away the ring, but I could never find it in my heart to do so. It hurt too much to even think about it.

One day though, everything changed.

They told me he died. They had found out from a passing traveler.

He disappeared from us to protect us against Akingda. (A/N: Just pleeeease pretend that it's an ancient evil demon, pleeeease.)

He didn't leave because he hated us. It was because he loved us.

I looked at my ring again, it was slowly dripping, the ring was finally melting.

I smiled.

I wonder what everyone will think when they find their Lucy on the floor, the ring on her finger, sleeping peacefully forever, hopefully reunited with her Gray.
