*beep* *beep* *beep*
A short blue haired girl was crying on the foot of a hospital bed, her friends surrounding her.
On the bed was someone, wrapped all up in bandages. This person is on the brink of life and death.
As everyone watched, tears flowing out of their eyes, the blue haired girl was praying as she cried, her face filled with pain.
"W-Why couldn't it have been me? Why'd he have to go and protect me? Idiot... *sob*" the girl stuttered through tears.
As everyone watched, another girl, blonde this time, walked forward and reached out to touch the other girl's shoulder.
"You know he loved you. If you had gotten hurt, he would've just blamed himself. Please don't be sad." the blonde girl said, tears streaming down her face.
The blue haired girl didn't reply, she just sobbed harder.
Everyone, sadness on their faces, left the room, leaving the two alone.
She grabbed the bandaged person's hand. She cried harder.
As she was about to let go of the hand, she felt a slight squeeze.
She looked up and felt the bandaged man smirk.
"Idiot shortie, don't cry for me. I'll always be with you, dummy," he said, his hand squeezing hers.
She gasped in shock as the hand went limp in her grasp.
"GAJEEL!!! NOO! Please... *sob*... don't leave me," she cried out.
No matter how much she cried out, there wasn't a response.
The girl smiled sadly and got up. She placed something on the bandaged man's chest as she turned to leave. A single ring glinted in the sunlight, a gift she had meant to give to him.
"I love you."
