Just do it.

Jennie walked alongside Kai, their feet occasionally hitting a rock as they formed a marking. It was their last one, so they hoped to get it done quickly

"You know, I'm surprised. I never thought I'd make it this far" Jennie admitted honestly

"Same here. And if I'm honest. I never wanted too. Once my family died, I was lonely, and in so  much pain."

Jennie smiled softly as she passed him the tape, understanding in some ways what he's saying. Because they all have their own pasts, but not a lot share them

"Now? Now I'm just glad I met you guys. Even if it meant losing some people along the way. You guys are my family now. And nothing will change that"

I kneel down and pat his back, making him turn around with a boyish grin

"I'm gonna check the area. I can already sense the giant ass wave of chaos coming from wherever"

You should stay with the boy.

Why?

Forget it. Your gonna need to see what your up against

The Kiecotta says with a tone that I can't quite decipher. I look down at Kai and frown

"You alright here?"

"I'm fine. Go check Jen"

I nod my head and leave a pistol beside him as I jog off to the heat spot.

I trip but manage to catch myself as I turn my head around the corner

My head starts to pound, like a million things are hitting the back of it, my chest starts to feel heavy as I stare at the giant monstrous structure before me.

It's head is a slimy black, steam dripping from it's chin. It's bright red eyes stare straight ahead, as it's large body twitches as the creatures just drop out.

Fuck

A loud gunshot resonates through the area, making me instantly dart away.

Kai

I sprint as hard as I can, only to witness a gruesome scene. A large, larger than usual Abarimon swings its's limbs at Kai, as he tries to shoot it's weak points

I go to move, but find my body stuck

It is his fate. Let it be

No! He's my friend! He's gonna die!

Let fate run it's course, or you will fail.

I flinch when it throws his body like a rag-doll into a brick building, nausea rising in me as he hit's it with such force a few brick come tumbling

Go to him

I rush towards Kai, skidding to a halt and instantly dropping to my knees. I put a hand on his chest as he looks up to me with a pained smile

"Kai" I whisper, tears flooding my eyes

"It's okay. D-don't blame yourself Jen. I-I knew what was going to happen as soon as I woke up. May as well put up a fight?" He jokes, but midway through his laugh he starts to choke violently, blood splattering over his face

"Fuck. I-I'm sorry Kai" I say, not knowing how to express this.

It's like losing my brother all over again. Because Kai's been here since day 1. He's done everything with me, and he knows everything about me

"Jen? P-put me out of my misery" He whispers, a single tear leaking out of his eye

My eyes widen as I start to panic

Remove you gun from the holster, put it to his head. Say your final goodbyes and shoot.

I gulp slightly as I take out my gun, hand shaking as I put it to his head.

You can't afford to be weak. It's producing faster than imagined, so at this rate? They're going to have to re-schedule the exit date sooner, and your going to have to do this. Sooner

"I love you brother" I say, offering a weak, watery smile

Kai smiles back, blood coating his pearly white teeth

"I love you too Sis"
