My fingers dance across the dial of my lock. Another day, another hour, another minute, another second, unfortunately spent at this hell hole they call a place of learning. Is there no end?

There was never any excitement at this school or in my life. I longed for adventure, for mystery, for love. My hands worked like clockwork, pulling out books, pencils and paper. I was in a daze. I closed the door of my locker, but instead I grabbed empty space. I snapped out of my daze.

"What?"

A piece of paper was stuck inbetween the locker frame and door, stopping my locker from closing.

"How peculiar," I mutter under my breath. The paper is small and white, folded hastily. I pulled it open eagerly.

Roses are red; violets are blue.

Fuck poem writing; I think you're cute.

xx Lilly

My cheeks flushed red as a small smile creeped onto my face.

"What are you so happy about?" A voice said from behind me. I recognized that voice. Shit. Tess.

I whirled around, note clutched to my chest.

"Nothing," I said, smiling reassuringly.

"I've seen that face before Abby. You're in love!" Tess grinned from ear to ear, skin crinkled around the eyes.

"No, I'm..." A hand shot out and grabbed the note from my hand.

'Tess!" I screamed as her eyes darted across the paper. She looked at me questioningly.

"From Lilly! Do you like her?" she asked curiously. "I totally approve; there's nothing wrong with being gay-" I

interupted her.

"I am not gay!" I shouted, forgetting that we were in a crowded hallway. I could just feel judgemental eyes looking me up and down. I looked at my feet, knowing that my face would be bright red.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry... I just thought," Tess backpedaled.

"I'm not....i dont think..Can we please change the subject?" My eyes were glued to my shoes. Black leather laces ups, slightly scuffed.

"Um, have you heard about Eva?' Tess said hesitantly.

"No, what happened? Did she make out with Jack again? I swear if she has.."

"No, Abby this is serious. She's gone missing."
