Sam POV

Whaaaahhh....!! I've been knocked off my feet! I feel little powerless fists falling on my arms as I try to block her useless blows.

"Mel!" I complain. She just continues assaulting me. Sprawled in the middle of the bloody street!

"Not even a phone call. Not even a god damned text message!...worried sick....stupid guy....tried calling your stupid phone..!!" She muttered as she punch-slapped me.

"Okay okay! Mel!" I say grabbing both her hands and easily trapping both in one hand. She struggles to move. I smirk, hoist her up so we're standing and wait for her to regain her balance before I let go.

My initial annoyance fades as I see the worried expression on her face and I hug her.

" I'm fine Mel." I whisper in her ear.

"Well it would've been really nice if I'd known that two freaking days back." I murmurs into my shoulder. "You know what happened last time Sam. How could you leave me in the dark for two days?"

" I'm sorry. It won't happen again. Ever." I promise letting go of her as she goes back to twine around Rodger who is standing by Starbucks watching the very amusing drama unfold.

My eyes look for Six....but I can't find her. She...she was right here before Melissa attacked me!

Then I spot her. She's on the ground picking up my stuff and putting it back in my bag. Oh my god. She gets up and hands me my bag.

"You're welcome!" She says and walks off towards the coffeehouse. Umm...okay..

"Hey Six!" I stop her. "Umm..thanks for getting my bag...I..."

"No worries! I couldn't just stand by and watch..." she says. Is she jealous...or something? She doesn't seem the type. She does some really strange things sometimes. I think she's noticed my confusion and she sighs....like she's tired of explaining something.

"Someday when we're the closer kind of friends, there will be a lot of things I will tell you about me. Maybe then....you won't find me as weird. Or maybe you will. I don't know. But please let it go for now Sam...." she pleads and the hurt in her eyes is my undoing.

Something breaks within me as I stare at her pained expression. I decide that one day, I will know her well enough to comfort her.

"Don't worry about it. I'm plenty weird too!" I reply and she responds with a sad smile.

We head towards where Melissa and Rodger are standing.

"....this guy wasting fuel. I mean come on! He's stopping so might as well turn the engine off!" Rodger complains. He's angrily going on about some bike rider not putting off his engine as he waited for someone.

"He's causing pollution and wasting fuel!" He says emphatically and I see Six looking at him amused.

"Umm...Six...this is Rodger." I introduce her to to Rodger and Mel.

"Oh hello Six. Interesting name." He says in his heavily accented English and offers his which Six shakes with an amused expression on her face.

"Hii!" Melissa chirps in. "I'm Melissa. I'm Sam's best friend. You must be new here...I've never seen you around. Sure I'd remember a girl with such a cool name. I mean my name is just-"

"Mel!" I slap my hand on her mouth. "Just. Stop. Talking." I say. But then I regret it.

Six observes them, every move, every twitch of their body as an awkward silence follows the introduction. I can see Rodger get queasy but Mel is still her overbearing self.
