Chapter 6

" Anabell?" Liam asked the girl. We were all seated around the fire trying to figure out her name. we had gone through so many names, but so far, none were a match.

She shook her head once again.

" Shawna?" Nope. " Darcey?" No. "Delilah?" Nuh uh.

Man, this was harder than i thought.

" Umm, maybe we should guess the order the letters go in???...." Liam said uncertainly.

" Yeah, that would have been great if you had said so before hand!" i said a bit sarcastically. He just laughed at my frustration.

" Does your name start with A?" i asked turning back to the girl, who was sitting there curled up in a blanket with her bear. Head shake. here we go again...

" B?" No. " C?" negative. " D? E? F? G? H?" No to each one. " I? J? K?" To my surprise, she was nodding her head. Though, which one was it for?

"I?" Her slight smile was replaced by a frown. Guess not.

" J?" Still no smile. Nope, not that one. Soooo, that only leaves...

" K?" At that a grin came to her features. Bingo!

Liam and i both looked at each other in relief of not having to go through the whole alphabet.

" Okay, so names that start with K....... Kara?" She stuck her tung out at us as if disgusted. Nope.

" Kayley? Katty? Kenya?" No, No, No. urg.... i racked my brain for names.

" Kimberly? Kiara--" the girl suddenly tilted her head to the side and looked at us with wide eyes.

" Kiara?" we both asked at the same time, hoping that was it.

she only squinted her eyes.

" So it sounds like Kiara?" i said

She nodded slowely nodded her head.

i looked over at Liam. " What sounds like kiara?" we sat there thinking for a couple minutes.

An idea came into my mind then. Maybe......

" Kira?" I said, voicing the idea.

Her eyes snapped to mine and her smile reached her eyes then. She nodded, leaned towards me and held me around the waist, almost like a hug.What?? this was definatly not like she was yesterday. who are you and what have you done with her!! Actually, no i take that back. i'd rather this than almost getting killed every time i looked at her.

I looked up nervously to Liam to find him looking at me as if he was concerned for me.

" well...." I said not knowing what to do now with the gi--i mean, Kira-- still holding me tightly. "Her name's Kira and i think she might be bipolar..."

we both just looked at each other for a minute before bursting out laughing. I looked down at Kira and found her smiling too.

" Ah, man..... by the way, what time is it?" Liam said after calming down a bit.

He pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen.

" Oh geez, its already getting late. Sorry i got to get going or else my mom'll be mad." Liam said getting up.

"Alright, i'll see you later, i guess." i said. i couln't get up to see him to the door because Kira was still glued to my side with no intention of moving.

Liam smirked and waved, going back home.

As the door shut after him i felt the girl snuggle in closer to my side.

" Uhhh..." I didn't have anything to say about this. really i was speechless. just yesterday she was terrified of me and now she wouldn't let go of me. i kinda felt bad for her teddy bear who was squished between us.

Ring! Ring!

my phone went off, but Kira didn't even budge. I sighed and leaned over, into my bag for it. Holding it in my hand, i answered.

" Hello?"

" Tristan, dear, its me." Oh, my mom. " I heard in the news that the rain is going to stop in half an hour or so, so i want you to come home, okay?"

wow, hi mom. i great, you? thats good. sometimes she was too direct.

" ya i'll be home." then all of a sudden, i looked down at the girl. What if..." Hey mom?"

" Yes?"

" can you get a bath going for when i get home?"

" Why cant you do it yourself when you get home?"

" Oh, it not for me."

" Then...?"

"I'll explain when i get there. Love you, bye." I hung up quickly before she could ask any more questions.
