Chapter 4

When i woke up the next morning, i found myself to be alone in the cabin.

I checked the time as it read11 o'clock. where ever the girl went, she'd probably be back soon. I went to my bag and grabbed my phone to see if i had any messages. i did. And all were from liam. I guess ill have to answer him sometime.....

just as i was about to read the text messages, my phone started wringing.

" Hello?"

" hey man, where you been?" It was liam.

" Ummm..."

" Why haven't you been at school? You sick or somethin' ?"

" No, but...."

" Dude, whats going on with you? I texted you about a hundred times and nothing."

" Err...you know 2 days ago you took the bus home and i walked?"

" Yeah...." he said obviously not knowing where this was going.

" Well, you know that some times i go through the wood?"

From the other end of the line there was a pause, then he burst out laughing.

" Tristan, are you lost?"

" What? No. Yes. I don't know but..."

" But what?"

" well, i got kinda side tracked, then i wondered a bit and i found this sort of hunting cabin but its really run down and then there's this girl-"

" A girl?"

" Yeah. I think she lives here though i have no idea how she can."

" What does she look like?"

" Umm, she has bright red/ gold hair, green eyes and a nice shape."

" You lucky bastard."

" Anyway, I'm going to be heading home once the rain stops, so i'll tell you more then."

" How about i meet you half way today since there's suppose to be a break in the weather around lunch..."

" Okay, let me guess. You just want to see the girl, right?"

" Urg...You know me too well. By the way, whats her name?"

That caught me off guard. I hadn't  thought of that one.

" Umm, i don't know."

" How could you not know?"

" She doesn't talk much..."

" Tristan, you got some explaining to do, but unfortunately i have to go. I'll see you at the end of the path."

" Okay, later."

Well, this going to be interesting, was all i thought.

Just as i slipped my phone into my pocket, the cabin door slammed open, hitting the wall in the process. I jumped in surprise and turned to see the girl stumble through the door. She pushed the it shut behind her and walked towards the fire depositing something by it along with her knife. I looked closer and found that it was a fox. It lay there limply as i looked up sharply. I gasp. In that moment the fox didn't matter anymore.

The girl was eying the dead animal with disapproval but that was beside the point. Her face was slowly dripping with blood, not the animals, but hers. She had three long marks down the right side of her face, from her forehead, over her eye, to her cheek. The one closest to her nose was what seemed to be the deepest gash followed by the middle one, a bit less deep, then the last which appeared to be just a bad scratch.
