"Hey, Cedric?" I called out, growing slightly impatient as he took longer than expected. I had been in his room earlier, and he had mentioned going to retrieve something from the living room.

"Ced?" I called again as I went down the stairs, my voice echoing through the empty house. It was comforting to know his parents weren't home, giving us a bit of freedom.

Not finding him downstairs, I decided to head back to his room. But before I could step inside, I caught sight of him emerging from a door at the end of the hallway. Curiosity sparked within me, and I couldn't resist asking. "What were you doing?"

His eyes widened and seemed surprised to see me outside.

"I just had to put something away in there." He replied, his tone casual. Yet, I couldn't help but notice a flicker of hesitation in his eyes.

"It took you a while, though. What's in there?" I prodded further.

"It's just a storage room." He answered, brushing off my question. I decided not to press any further, though a part of me wondered if there was something more to the room than he was letting on.

We went back to his room and happily continued our homework together. The course we picked was something we both loved, and it was a great chance for us to learn and grow as a couple. Studying with Cedric made me feel thankful for our shared academic interests and the love we had for each other.

Later in the evening, his parents arrived home, and we joined them downstairs for a cozy family dinner. The familiar atmosphere filled with laughter and love, and as his mom affectionately referred to us as "the twins", Cedric and I exchanged knowing glances, cherishing the unbreakable bond we had formed. We had always been inseparable, and the thought of being apart was something we couldn't fathom.

After dinner, as the night began to embrace us, Cedric walked me home, his protective presence a comforting shield against the darkness.

My mom, in her playful nature, jokingly locked me out, suggesting I spend the night at Cedric's house. We laughed, savoring the lightheartedness of the moment, before bidding each other goodnight.

After enjoying a relaxing warm bath, I headed up to my room when my phone unexpectedly rang.

"Hello?" I answered the phone, recognizing Cedric's voice on the other end.

"Hey, babe!" He exclaimed excitedly, his enthusiasm seeping through the phone.

I couldn't help but smile, knowing full well who else it could be. "Why are you calling? I just saw you a little while ago." I teased playfully.

"Because I already miss my babe." He responded, and I could almost picture the pout on his face.

"Alright, I miss you too, babe." I replied, the tenderness of our connection flowing effortlessly through the phone. We chatted until sleep gently claimed us, finding comfort in the presence of each other's voices, even in the realm of dreams.

"We'll be back later. Behave, you two, okay?" My mom said, a twinkle of amusement in her eyes, before leaving the house. Cedric and I found ourselves simply relaxing in the living room, reveling in the tranquility of the weekend.

Since it was Saturday, we had planned a movie marathon, indulging in the comfort of shared stories until the evening hours wrapped around us like a cozy blanket.

"What should we watch?" Cedric asked, his eyes glimmering with anticipation.

"Well, I borrowed this DVD from Claire. Here, I'll grab some snacks." I replied, handing him the DVD case before heading to the kitchen. As I returned with a tray filled with delicious treats, I found Cedric reading the plot summary on the back of the DVD case.

"Do you like it?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"It seems interesting. I think it'll be good." He replied, rising from the couch to put the DVD in the player, our fingers brushing against each other in the process, igniting a subtle spark of affection.

We chose to watch a movie called 'If Only,' a romantic and sad film that touched our hearts. As the story played out, tears filled our eyes, moved by the touching love story. In the midst of our emotions, a playful moment happened.

"Sneeze on this, babe." Cedric playfully wiped my nose, causing a fit of giggles to escape me, along with a bit of sniffling.

"Look what you've done!" I exclaimed, snatching the tissue from him and wiping my nose, all the while laughing at our playful antics.

"Eww, Massie!" Cedric continued to tease. "You cried a lot during the movie, and now you have a stuffy nose!"

"You're getting on my nerves!" I retorted, turning away from him and grabbing more tissue.

"I'm just kidding, babe. Stop crying, you look adorable." He reassured me, stretching out his hands towards me. I couldn't resist his charm and moved closer, allowing him to wrap his arms around me in a warm embrace.

"But please don't cry anymore, it makes me sad too. I love you, babe." He whispered, his voice filled with both tenderness and a hint of vulnerability, sealing our connection with a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"Okay, I love you too." I replied, my heart swelling with affection as I held him tightly, as if trying to capture this moment forever, for the fear of losing him was a weight I carried deep within my soul.

But in his arms, I found happiness and strength, knowing that our love was resilient, unyielding, and meant to withstand any challenge that may come our way.
