Nova POV

it's been a week since that night at the club, and I still can't believe that I kissed Trey it just happened I couldn't help myself. and I was not disappointed, his lips were so soft. I just wish it would have lasted longer, but just as he started to kiss me back I pulled away and quickly hopped inside my Uber and told him to drive away.

he's texted me a couple of times since then but hasn't responded I couldn't. I mean I told this guy I wasn't interested in anything. But then I go and plant one one him, I can't give him any ideas.

and it doesn't help that I am so on edge about what Sean said, I haven't heard anything yet, but it could happen at any time. if he was even serious about his threat I am not sure. but I still have to take it seriously, so I called Rayna since she's a lawyer and works at a law firm. I asked her what I needed to do. and she thankfully walked me through a couple of steps for different scenarios, which helped a lot.

but I have also been way more protective around Jayden, I called in to work for two days. so that I could be home with him. it would have been way more. but thankfully my mom was able to talk some sense into me.

"mama you okay?" Jayden asked me as I was making him dinner.

"ya I am fine baby" I smiled at him, he could be so respective sometimes.

"okay" he seemed satisfied.

"why don't you go play while I finish up dinner" I tell him.

he nodded and rushed to the living room where all his toys were.

"Honey I am home" I heard Rayna's voice ring through my apartment.

"in the kitchen" I called back as I was stirring my sauce.

"ohh smells good in here" she smiled as she walked in with Jayden on her hip.

"thanks" I grinned.

"so what's new? how was work?" she asked as she put Jayden down.

"Nothing much, work was alright nothing exciting happened" I shrugged.

"mhm, I know you hiding something from me. but I know you will tell me when you are ready so I am not worried." she has a confident smile.

she wasn't wrong, but I had no idea to even tell her what was wrong. I also didn't want to risk Jayden overhearing anything. he had great ears and is in a repeating stage now. so I have to be very careful what I say.

"so you remember that guy from the bar?" She randomly says.

"yes," I hesitantly said as I had no idea where he was going with this.

"Well he asked me out, and we kinda got to know each other that night. and we just clicked, and we have a lot in common. plus I mean he's not exactly hard on the eyes" she confessed.

"That's great Ray, what are you guys going to do?" I was happy for her.

"I am not sure, he claims he has it all planned out. but I guess I will find out tomorrow" She looked happy.

"That sounds fun, you will have to text me when you're done," I tell her.

"so what about you? what happened with you and that guy? he seemed to be very fond of you" she grinned.

"Nothing much, we just talked and he defended me against Sean." I kept it at that.

"okay and? I know there is more. I mean. he waited outside with you did you take the Uber or did he drive you?" she questioned.

"no, I took the Uber, we exchanged numbers and well I kissed him" I mumbled the last part as Jayden was close.

"I am sorry did you just say you kissed him" she whispered yelling.
