Nova POV

"I am sorry did you just tell me he asked you to be his girlfriend?" Rayna gasped in shock.

"mhm last night, he came over for dinner and met Jayden. and we were just having a really good conversation. and I couldn't help but kiss him. and he got like really into it. then all of a sudden he broke the kiss and was like be my girlfriend. I couldn't help but say yes. I mean Ray he's perfect." I gushed.

"I am so happy for you. you truly deserve this." she smiled and then shoved a bite of food into her mouth.

"Thanks, I am happy. I am so glad that you and my mom pushed me. because I like him Ray. and he's so good with Jayden, you should have seen them yesterday. they just bonded so well. and you know that Jayden is very particular about who he likes and doesn't. and if they didn't get along i would have had to cut ties with him. but honestly, they clicked right away and ugh I am so happy" I was truly happy I haven't been this happy in a while.

"I can tell you glowing." she beamed.

"Okay okay enough about me, what's been going on with you and that guy? Who I guess is best friends with Trey," I questioned.

"It's alright, we are taking things slow. he got hurt badly by his last girlfriend. so he's hesitant about dating. but he told me he liked me and wanted to get to know me before we committed to anything. And it makes sense, he's such a good guy Nova. he's so caring and we just have the most amazing conversation. it's just so real and I can truly be myself around him. it just feels natural" She was smiling hard.

"I know what you mean, oh my gosh. we are going to have to go on a double date soon." I proposed.

"Ohh yes, we need to make this happen." she agreed.

"I will talk to Trey later" I was excited now.

"you can't call him now?" she asked.

"no he's in a meeting, he's working on expanding his tattoo shop," I tell her.

"wow, you are a girlfriend. knowing your man's whole ass schedule for the day" she joked but she wasn't wrong.

"I mean I try" I did an over-dramatic hair flip.

causing us both to burst out in laughter.

"so have you told your mom yet?" She asked after we calmed down.

"no not yet, she took Jayden early this morning. but I plan to tell her when they get back, as I didn't want to make them late for their plans," I explained.

"makes sense," Rayna claims.

"Mommy I am home" I heard Jayden yell and the sound of the front door being opened.

"kitchen" I called out to him.

"mama look what Gigi bought me" he came barreling into the kitchen with a plastic bag dangling from his hand.

"ohh Gigi bought you a goldfish wow" I mean it's just a fish I wasn't upset I thought it was sweet.

"yup got the stuff too" he beamed.

"what are we going to name it?" I smiled down at him.

"how about Swimmy?" he looked at me for reassurance.

"perfect" I agreed I wasn't going to tell him it was a bit of an interesting name.

"Swimmy the goldfish has a nice ring to it" Mom was trying to hold back her laugh.

"Well, we should get him in the bowl and stuff I think" I knew he was excited and I loved seeing him happy.

"my room?" he looked at me with hopeful eyes.
