Nova POV

I was thankful Trey got here when he did, or it could have been much worse. But now I had to go and talk to my terrified son, who shouldn't even be afraid. But that's what happens when his dad is a major drunk. But I didn't know it at the time.

"Jayden?" I called out in a soft tone as I pushed open his door.

He was lying down on his bed, and I could hear his soft cries.

"mama" he cried out for me.

"oh baby it's okay" I was trying to hold back my tears as I got down on the bed beside him.

He cuddled up to me right away. And I could feel his body shaking with tears.

"it's all going to be okay" I rubbed his back to try and soothe him.

"no go with him mama" he cried.

"I know baby, and I promise I will try my best to not let that happen okay" I whispered.

He nodded and squeezed me tight. I was so mad that I could honestly hurt Sean so bad he would want to be dead. But I would never do anything that would take me away from Jayden.

"I love you so much baby" I kissed his cheeks.

"love you" he sniffled.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"really my daddy?" he asked with a sad voice.

"yes, he is" I was honest.

"no like him." He says.

"I am sorry if he scarred you with the yelling" I just hope this didn't scare him.

"Is Trey here?" Jayden whispered.

"ya, he's downstairs," I tell him.

Jayden sat up and moved off of me.

"Carry me downstairs?" he asked with a pout.

I couldn't say no, especially after what he just went through. But that pout was the topping on the cake.

"okay let's go" I scooped him up and started to make our way downstairs.

"Trey" Jayden called out with a smile.

And it made me glad that he didn't seem too upset.

"hey JayMan" Trey smiled.

"guess what" Jayden asked with a smile.

"what" Trey smiled back.

"Gigi bought me a goldfish, and I named him Swimmy. He's a fast swimmer" Jayden informed Trey.

"awesome I can't wait to see him." it just makes me melt with how good Trey is with him.

"now?" Jayden asked.

"Sure we can go now" Trey agreed so I set Jayden down and he took off right to Trey with open arms.

Trey scooped him up with a smile and carried him back upstairs. I stayed here as I just needed a moment to decompress. I walked into the kitchen and pulled out my phone to call my mom.

"Mom" I answered the phone with a cry.

"oh honey, what's wrong? I just left like not even an hour ago" she sounded worried.

"Sean showed up Mom." I cried.

"What! Is he still there? Where's Jayden" Mom rushed out all at once.

"no he's gone, Trey helped me get him out. But mom he scared Jayden, I don't know if he's okay or not. He's showing Trey his fish. But he was crying when I went to talk to him after he left. And mom I am not okay, he's threatening me to court" I barely got out.
