Nova POV

"Okay, so can we just talk about the fact that that guy was totally checking you out." Sam gushed as we were sitting in the break room.

"What are you talking about?" she was seeing things.

"when he actually looked at us, I totally saw him do a double take. and I could tell he liked what he saw." Sam was smirking.

"the only man I want and need in my life right now is Jayden" I was serious.

I barely have time for my son, let alone trying to keep a man.

"Okay I will drop it, for now," she said and I am grateful.

"so what are you doing with your day off tomorrow" Hannah questioned.

"Rayna and I are taking Jayden shopping. he's growing out of all his clothes," I explained.

Rayna is my best friend, she's been my friend since I was like seven. when she moved from Florida to Atlanta. and we just clicked right away.

"oh fun we should all go out for drinks again soon, I need a girl's night out." Sam sighs.

"I can see if my mom can watch Jay for an hour or two?" I tried to suggest it because honestly, a girl's night sounds pretty perfect.

"oh okay text me and let me know, this is so exciting" Sam gushed.

I just laughed at her reaction.

"All alright, time to get back to work" I decided and grabbed my clipboard so that I knew where to do my rounds.

"mama" Jayden yelled as I walked through the door to my mom's house.

"Hello, my sweet baby boy, where you good for Gigi?" I questioned as I scooped him up in my arms.

"mhm made cookies" he smiled and wiggled so that I would put him down.

and as soon as his feet hit the floor he grabbed my hand and was dragging me to the kitchen.

"wow they look great baby" I smiled and brushed his hair through my fingers.

"he was waiting for you to try them with him." Mom claims as she follows us into the kitchen.

"have one now?" he looked at me with his big brown eyes.

"Okay, but only one cause you don't want to spoil your dinner," I tell him.

he grinned and then reached up and grabbed two cookies off the plate, he handed one to me and then took a bite of his.

"so Mom I was wondering if you had plans tomorrow evening?" I decided to bring it up.

"no not anything set in stone why?" she looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"well a bunch of the girls from work wanted to go out for a drink, and I was hoping that you could maybe keep Jayden?" I felt kind of terrible for asking her.
