one

it was a long day at school

i was drained, barely having any energy to stumble to the bus stop

my eyes were drooping and i was dragging my bag on the pavement

three boys around my age were there too, whispering with each other

i didnt seem to notice them at first, i was too busy thinking about all the things i had to do when i got home

two boys slipped what seems like an envelope into a blue book, glanced at me then stepped onto the bus

they were definitely telling me to open the envelope despite no words exchanged between us

i wasn't sure to open the enevelope or not, it could be a surprise, a prank, or something totally life changing

i made my mind up, i wanted to open the envelope, my curiosity was getting the better of me

i cautiously picked up the light blue book and pulled out the envelope

i carefully opened it and on the card it wrote

'you're invited to our bloody birthday party

12:00am
first of september
2021'

the birthday party was held tomorrow

it seemed strange since it was unusual i would be invited to a stranger's birthday party; and the bloody part didn't make any sense to me

'why would they invite me?'

time flies and before i knew it, i was in front of the location where the party was held

i didn't know why i accepted to go to the party

it felt strange but it just felt right

i knocked on the door and the door creaked open

a boy opened and stared at me in confusion.

'you're invited to the party...?'

'uhm yeah'
i replied while handing my invite to him.

he looked over it and let me in.

'sunghoon! who is it?'

'apparently a new girl. jay, stop nagging me everytime a newbie comes'

one of the boys from the bus stop was there and he looked in my direction.

'nevermind, i should probably leave, im not familiar with anyone anyways'

'no, stay for a while. please?'
the boy said while grabbing my hand.
