A Sick Day in Ninjago

My Other Half

Maya stirred, climbed out of bed, and shut off the alarm. Grabbing her clothes for the day she looked at Ray, who had beads of sweat running down his face. The last time Ray was sick, he still worked because he was worried Crux would go after their kids. But this seemed worse than just the common cold, and Ray is stubborn, she thought to herself looking at Ray worriedly. 

"*Cough* Maya honey can you grab me my work clothes," Ray said tiredly. "But" "Maya I don't have a choice, he'll go after the kids, I'll be fine. Ray said coughing.

"I just want you to know that I don't like this one bit," Maya said, throwing Ray his work clothes. "Take it easy okay."

"I'll try," Ray said, getting ready for another long day at the forge.

(time skip 1 hour)

"*Cough* Woah," Ray said stumbling back and using the table to steady himself. "You okay" "Ya I'm just a bit dizzy that's all."

 "Ray the heat from the fire isn't good for you. Go and rest, you haven't made any progress anyway Crux won't notice."

"Notice what," Crux said walking in. "Planning to rebel, I still know where your children are and I won't hesitate to finish them." 

"It's not that"

"You haven't made any progress what are you hiding?!"

"We're not hiding anything it's just that Ray is sick and"

"That's not an excuse to not get any work done, do better! Crux yelled, walking towards the door.

"He's sick Crux," Maya yelled back, fuming. 

"Maya it's, Maya!" Ray said stumbling back and trying to catch himself on the work table, but it was no use, his knees buckled, and he fell to the ground unconscious.

"Ray!" Maya screamed, running towards her Yin. "He's breathing," Maya said elevating his legs. "You see what you did to him Crux you pushed him to overwork himself! Are you trying to get him killed cause then you'll never be able to complete your master plan!"

"Honey, I don't feel so good," Ray said trying to sit up.

"Ray you're okay, just lay back down."

"Ray you are permitted to take some time off to heal. As for you Maya, you are to continue your work."

"Are you going to hire a nurse or take care of Ray yourself?" "Excuse me" "If I'm working then who is going to take care of Ray?"

"Fine, you can both take some time off, but I expect you both to get right back to work after he's better."Crux retorted. I've waited decades I can wait a few more days, Crux thought to himself before walking out the door.

"I'm going to extinguish the forge and then I'll take you to bed. Don't move."

"Okay," Ray said waiting for Maya to finish.

"I'm gonna carry you to our bed, tell me if you're feeling queasy." Maya slowly picked Ray up bridal style and carried him to their bed, where she slowly set him down. 

"Stay here, I'll be right back," She said walking towards the fridge and grabbing the apple juice. Pouring a glass for Ray to take his medicine and grabbing a few crackers she assembled a little snack.

"Thanks honey," Ray said taking his medicine.

Maya grabbed the thermometer and placed it in Ray's mouth waiting for a beep. "103! Ray, why didn't you tell me you were feeling this bad!?!"

"I was worried Crux would go after the kids. Sweetheart, why are you crying?

"I can't lose you Ray, I've already been ripped away from my kids. You're the only person I have left. I don't know what I'd do without you. Maya said sobbing.

Ray pulled Maya closer and started stroking her hair. I can't lose you either because you're my other half, and I'm incomplete without you.

The couple fell asleep holding each other, knowing that as long as they were alive, they would always protect their other half.

They don't have many moments in the show, but Raya is so cute! I hope you enjoyed and have an amazing day/night
