Friends or family?

Episode 7

(This is probably one of more deeper episodes but it's always an happy ending) btw this will probably be longer than the other episodes just because.

The girls are just chilling during the lunch break at school. They're talking about prom dates.
Zoe: soooo, Alma, do you have a prom date in mind yet?
Alma: nope, I actually don't, I wish though. What about you?
Zoe: well I have one in mind but I'm too shy to ask her...
Alma: just do it girl, we will support you if she says no.
Katie: yeah, you go girl, go ask her now!
Zoe: uhm...not yet, I want to uhm-... ehheh...I don't-....Uhm just not yet. I'm too nervous.
Alma: what about Katie?
Katie: uhm...I don't know...
Alma: ugh you guys are so...ugh forget it.
*the bell rings*
Zoe: let's go back to class

The girls headed back to class then the teacher tells that a new boy student from Australia is coming to this class next week. Alma gets excited.

Next day

Alma's home chilling on the couch with her dog, and her mom suddenly gets a call from an unknown number. A few minutes later Alma's mom walks in the living room where Alma is, looking really confused and shocked.
Alma: mom, what is it?
Alma's mom: you will never guess who I got a call from...
Alma: who!?
Alma's mom: your dad...
Alma: but...but....that's i-...impossible. Is he alive? I thought he was dead...that's impossible.
Alma's mom: technically that's not impossible *sits down on the couch and takes a deep breath*
You were only one years old when he left. He left without a word, I thought he was dead for years, but he's body was never found, so it's possible that he's still alive but I have no idea where he has been all this time.
Alma: I-...I have no words.
Alma's mom: I can only imagine how you feel. I haven't talked with him since he left and I just got a call from him...that's so weird.
Alma: what did he say?
Alma's mom: he wants to meet us, especially you.
Alma: where? Why?
Alma's mom: in...in the hospital. I don't know why.
Alma: I don't know if I'm ready to meet him, I don't even know or remember how he looks like.
Alma's mom: he said he wanted to explain why he left.
Alma: mom...Can I just think for a while, I will go to the park with pup (she calls her dog for pup even though he's not a puppy anymore).
Alma's mom: okay, don't be too late and tell me if you want to come with me later today!
Alma: okay.

Alma goes to the park with Max (real name of her dog). She packs with her, her notebook, pens, headphones, phone, and some food, and something fun for Max. She's just chilling there playing with max with a tennis ball and trying not to think about her dad. She hasn't told her friends yet, she's not even sure if she wants to. But then she sees them on a walk towards her home. Soon Alma gets a call from them.

The call
Katie: hey gurl, where are you at?
Alma: im at the park with pup.
Zoe: can we come there?
Alma: sure.
End of the call

While they walk to the park where Alma is, they're just chatting with each other, after a while they suddenly holds hands without noticing.
Katie: did Alma sound a bit sad or out of earth, or is it just me?
Zoe: she sounded like worried or sad.
Katie: hopefully she's okay.
Zoe: yeah, let's go check on her.
Katie: yeah.
Zoe: *silent moment* uhm...about the uhm...prom. I just kind if....like...uhm...thought of....like uhm...
Katie: I'm listening...
Zoe: uhm...do you...like...uhm...would you like to...go with me? *says very shyly and nervously*
Katie: uhm...yeah! I was just...about to ask you...
Zoe: you were?
Katie: yeah...And we go as friends right?
Zoe: yeah...friends...right.
(Neither of them did actually want to go as just friends but it was too hard for them to ask if they could go as more than friends).
Katie: oh ugh sorry...
Zoe: for what?
Katie: we are uhm...holding hands.
Zoe: oh! Damn. But uhm...don't be sorry, it's okay for me.
*smiles at each other*
Katie: omg, is that Alma? There! Laying on the ground?! *pointing at Alma*
Zoe: omg is she okay, we took to long...I really hope we aren't too late.
Katie: is that pup? Barking on a giant backpack which look very similar to a Macoom!
Zoe: it is a Macoom!!!
