I stood in front of him in utter shock. Was I actually talking to him? Or did I just fall asleep while waiting for them to ride by?

Either way, dream or not, I was LOVING it.

I rubbed my neck with a nervous laugh before I shrugged, not thinking much of the small comment, "I suppose it does have a nice view.. yeah.."

AJ shook his head before laughing, his friends all standing around quietly, observing what felt like an interrogation. He turned around slightly and waved his hand in the air, as if to dismiss them before stepping closer to me.

I felt my breath hitch in my throat as ran his eyes over me, almost as if he could figure everything out just by my appearance. After a moment though, he spoke up.

"I've seen you watching from your window for a few nights now.." he chuckled to himself as a breeze went by. I watched his fingers make their way to his hair, brushing pieces that were scattered across his face from the wind behind his ear.

My face immediately heated up. Was he thinking that I was a total creep?! I opened my mouth to try to explain myself but i couldn't seem to form words. I stood there with my mouth a-gap for a moment before closing it, not sure what I would even say. Why was I so nervous around him?

I guess the silence was killing him since he continued, looking down at his shoes before a grin appeared on his face.

"I can't say I mind.." he started before shrugging, "the attention is nice.." he winked playfully at me before turning away for a moment, making sure his friends were all occupied with something before he looked back down at me, an idea shining behind his eyes.

"Are you free tonight..?" he asked, slightly tilting his head before looking up at my window. "I assume you are.." he continued before sticking his hand out in a friendly manner, "wanna tag along? We're heading to our special spot, I'd be happy if you decided to join us.." he smiled softly at me before gesturing towards his friends, "and I'm sure they wouldn't mind.."

Before I was even able to get out an answer or nod my head, I felt a gentle grab onto my hand, followed by a light tug. AJ walked with me to the crowd of his friends where he filled them all in about me tagging along and warned all of them not to pull any "dumb shit" - whatever that meant.

I didn't think much of the hand holding, friends did it all the time and if it's what AJ thought friends would do, then I'd do it. After all, I'm not gay, and he doesn't.. look.. gay, so to think I'd catch "homo" just by holding hands would be impossible.

He led me towards the front of the group and started walking away from my apartment. I looked back once, knowing I'd definitely regret this if my parents caught me and crossing my fingers that they wouldn't wake up before keeping my eyes ahead, no point in looking back right now. I just had to enjoy the moment.

AJ talked quietly to me to pass the time while we walked, explaining who was who in the group and their names and how close they were with him. He asked me a few basic questions about myself like what kept me watching out my window at night and how old I was and yada yada, nothing too deep.

After a good bit of talking and walking we had made it to what looked to be a very abandoned and uncared for building. Graffiti covered its dirty brick walls and broken, weathered boxes seemed to be stacked in a way to make a staircase. Soon enough, I found out they truly were a staircase as AJ and I stood back, watching each member climb up, skateboards in hand as they made their way to the open roof.

AJ dropped my hand once everyone had gone and nodded, "After you.." he offered and I looked towards the boxes hesitantly. They definitely didn't look stable but if all of them had just walked up these stairs, then I could too. I took a breath and nodded, slowly making my way up with my arms out to hold my balance.

He must've been able to sense my nervousness because halfway up the not so steady staircase I felt a pair of hands gently hold onto my waist. I must've provided the reaction he wanted because when I came to a stop, I heard a small chuckle come from behind me. I turned to face him after a moment and he just smiled innocently, "What are you waiting for? Keep moving, you got it"

My throat felt tight like before, causing me to cough before climbing the final boxes to the roof. He took his hands away once we had both made it to the top, that stupid angel like smile stuck on his face still, "Your face is awfully red.." he cooed in a fake sympathetic voice, reaching out a hand which I assumed was going to brush my cheek if I didn't push it away.

"Sorry that I'm not use to people being so touchy with me.." I hissed out quietly to him, only causing him to smirk before shrugging,

"I didn't want you to fall..that's all" he bowed his head slightly as if to apologize before walking over to his group who had gotten themselves situated, calling for me to follow him.

I looked down over the edge of the building for a moment sucking in a breath before closing my eyes. I brought my fingers to my arm and gently pinched myself, trying to determine if I was still dreaming. After the quick sting had shot through my body I let out a breath, opening my eyes and noticing AJ patting a spot next to his seat for me.

I rubbed my arm with a small smile and nodded, heading over to join him.
