"So you want to invest in the bar?" Kayla is eyeing Frankie warily. "Tell me why."

"I think it'd be a good investment. And I can help you triple your profits. It's a win-win, in my thinking," Frankie says.

"How do you propose we triple our income?" Kayla asks. "We're doing about as well as we can right now. And I refuse to raise the prices. People don't have a shit ton of money around these parts, in case you haven't noticed."

"I've noticed. This isn't my first rodeo, Kayla."

"Well? Let's hear those amazing plans of yours, Frankie. How do we triple our profits," Kayla says, crossing her arms over her chest and giving Frankie a Look.

"Live entertainment, for one," Frankie says. "I've ran into multiple people who just play instruments and sing out on the street." Frankie glances around the bar.

"You could fix this place up a little better, too. Also advertising is something else."

"Are you willing to recruit musicians? And help fix up this shithole? AND do the advertising?" Kayla asks. Frankie nods.

"I'll do whatever I need to. If I'm a partner, I'll take my duties very seriously." Kayla looks over at me. I just shrug.

"All right, Frankie. I'll give it a shot. Let's see if we can do what you think we can do." Frankie grinned.

"You won't regret it."

Frankie has an apron on as he's stirring something in a big pot. Nova is seated contendedly in high chair, watching Frankie as he proceeds to serenade her by singing along with the crappy radio that I keep in on a shelf in the corner of the kitchen.

I lean against the door frame, just studying this little scene, not sure what to make of it. Nova spots me and that's the end of  my observation.

Frankie turns, grinning at me. I notice all the gray hairs in his beard. I saunter over to him, reaching up to comb my fingers over it.

"These gray hairs, oh my," I whisper to Frankie. "I think I might have to do something-inappropriate to you later on." Frankie's eyes darken with desire.

"How inappropriate?" he asks softly. I smirk.

"Let's just say that it's going to involve YOU and ME, wearing no clothing." I pull Frankie's head down closer so I can whisper in his ear.

"AND it'll involve ME touching you on a specific part of your body. Can you guess what part that might be?" Frankie grabs me by the waist, pulling me against his body.

"That wouldn't be my privates, would it?" he growls softly. I kiss him.

"Guess you'll just have to wait and see," I say, pulling away and going to Nova and lean down, kissing her face.

Frankie makes a face.

"Are you shitting me? I don't know if I can wait that long!" I laugh.

"Patience is a virtue, Morales."

"Patience, my ass," Frankie growls. "You're just mean, Grace." I just look at him.

"Keep up that attitude and I'll change my mind." Frankie holds up his hands in defeat.

"I'll shut it."

"Whatever you intend to do to me, Luna, please be gentle," Frankie whispers. I grin wickedly.

"Make me." Frankie looks so vulnerable that I can't deny him anything right now.

"I will be," I say softly and then lean in to capture Frankie's lips with mine. I place my hands on his broad shoulders.

"I think I'm in love with you, Francisco Morales," I whisper as I lean in to kiss him again. Frankie holds me carefully.

"I've been in love with you since I first laid my eyes on you," he says huskily. I scowl.

"Are you TRYING to ruin the romantic mood, Morales?" Frankie just kisses me.

"Not really."

"Then stop talking." Frankie undoes my bra and pulls it off. He stared at my breasts. Then he moves to gently suck on them. I writhe on his lap.

"Your turn," I say softly as I unbuckle his belt buckle and slide it out and toss it on the floor.

"I think I'll need to stand up for this next part," Frankie says. I slide off his lap and unbutton his jeans when he stands. I slide them down and Frankie steps out of them.

"You're hot, Francisco Morales," I say, cupping his face in my hands. He grins and I reach up, brushing my fingertips over his dimples.

"These things are dangerous," I add. Frankie lifts me up in his arms and just stares at me.

"I feel dangerous right now," he says softly and my heart skips a beat.

"Being with you IS dangerous, Frankie," I whisper. Frankie sets me on the bed and climbs up next to me.

"I know it's been a wild ride for you," he says huskily. "And I know I screwed up and almost lost you." Frankie stares into my eyes.

"I won't make that mistake again."

"You damn well better not." I push close to him, slowly sliding my hand down into his boxers. Frankie inhales sharply and then releases a loud moan.

"This is definitely the area I wanted to touch, Morales," I whisper in his ear. Frankie's response is another moan. I smile.

"Does that feel good?" I ask as I carefully work him over. Frankie writhes.

"Oh, god, yes, Luna." I stop and grab Frankie's hand, guiding it down between my legs. I moan as his fingers make contact with me.

"Is this okay?" he asks softly. I just gasp and nod. Frankie goes in circles until I cry out. Then I push close to him and he comes straight into me and I cry out his name as we come together.

I'm resting my head on Frankie's chest.

"That was not disappointing," he says softly.

"Not at all," I agree. I slide back some and move to begin stroking his facial hair.

"I've been thinking about shaving the beard off," Frankie says.

"Don't you dare!" I snap.

"I won't, Lu. I promise." Frankie takes my hand and starts slowly and carefully kissing my fingers.

"Luna, will you tell me something?"

"Depends on what you want to know."

"What was Nova's father like?"

"He was a douchebag," I reply.

"I meant before he pissed you off," Frankie says.

"He was always a douchebag. Same as YOU. For some reason, I always manage to fall for the biggest douchebags."

"Hey, I'm not that big of a douchebag. I'm only a semi douchebag."

"Tell yourself that all you want to," I say. "I KNOW the truth."

"Har-har-har," Frankie says sarcastically. I giggle.

"He was-smooth," I say softly. "And handsome and cocky. I hated him on sight."

"At least now I know that's how you roll," Frankie says. "It wasn't just me."

"He smooth talked his way into my life. Then he planted his sperm inside me and hightailed it outta this place. I haven't seen him since."

"I'm sorry that happened to you, Luna. You didn't deserve that shit."

"Who the hell does?" I say. "Besides, I got the better end of the deal. I got Nova. I couldn't imagine my life without that precious baby girl. She's EVERYTHING to me."

"She's special," Frankie agrees.

"That she is," I whisper.
