You were wandering around the Totsuki Academy campus before the transfer exam. Since you were homeschooled before this point you have to transfer into Totsuki. Being S seat it wouldn't have been a problem to just skip the transfer exam and be a part of the Totsuki student body after all the staff and the Elite Ten Council know of your amazing cooking skills. But you always have been a fan of fairness so here you are today about to take the exam.
While wandering it comes to your mind that Soma may be here today also to take the transfer exam. You hear a commotion and you turn to look at it, speak of the devil the redhead you were thinking about appeared to be at the center of it. Wanting to stop it, you walked over and gave the who was just lifted by Soma a sharp glare, "A chef who only cares about fame isn't a chef, they're just an attention seeker. I happen to know this guy you just insulted here and he definitely cooks better than you will ever cook. Before you go judging others how about you think about yourself as a chef?" The boy looks scared, people have always seen you as a bit intimidating but that was just because they didn't know you.
After the situation calmed down a bit, you grabbed Soma's hand and led the way to the examination hall. When you grabbed Soma's hand he blushed a bit 'Her hands are so small and soft he thought'. "Thank you by the way for helping me out there," Soma says grinning.
"No problem, he deserved it, people like him disgust me" You replied with a blank face. It always disgusted you when people were cooking for the wrong reasons like fame and fortune, people should become chefs to make people smile, make amazing food, and follow their passion. After walking for a bit longer you got to the examination hall and you let go of Soma's hand. It hadn't even registered in your head that you had grabbed Soma's hand, you just did it instinctually. Soma wanted to reach back out and grab your hand but he decided not to.
Not even a minute later Erina and Hisako had arrived at the examination hall, seeing the familiar faces you smiled and waved at them and received a wave back. Erina and Hisako talked for a bit before Erina started talking to the crowd, "Bring the kitchen tables! The main ingredient is egg. Make one dish. Those who can satisfy my tongue will earn their admission to Totsuki Academy! In addition, I'll give you one minute to withdraw from the examination if you want." With that everyone had panicked faces and were running out of the hall, Soma caught the guy who was sitting on the bench earlier and asked why everyone was running and then he explained just who the examiner is and her ability. The bench guy then ran away leaving you, Soma, Erina, and Hisako in the examination hall.
"Erina! Hisako!" You ran up to them giving them both a tight hug, "I've missed you two so much" you pouted. The two girls blushed a bit at your cuteness.
"(Y/n) it's only been a week" Erina mentions.
"It's been that long?" You hugged Erina again a bit sad. Erina rubs your back to try and get you to calm down 'Geez, she's such a cry baby... but it's cute how much she missed us' Erina thought. Seeing you two hugging made Soma a bit jealous but made Hisako pretty happy seeing two of her favourite people together. You let go of the hug and continued to talk to Erina and Hisako.
"You know that you don't have to take the exam (Y/n), you can skip it then I can make a new dish in my room for you and Hisako to try," Erina says and she looks at us two, "do you want to have the right to sample my dish?" At this point, Erina has one arm wrapped around Hisako's waist holding her close to herself and with the other hand holding your chin making you look up at her face. Your face is red from blushing and you notice how close your faces are.
"I-I want it" Hisako replies also blushing.
"Fufu... what a greedy girl," Erina says to Hisako.
"Ah, I'm terribly sorry..." Hisako says getting even more flustered with a few tears in her eyes.
"Erina I'm sorry, I have to take the test. I want everything to be fair," You say averted your eyes from Erina's sharp gaze.
"Oh well, that is one of the things I admire about you," Erina says as she lets you and Hisako go. At this, you give her a big closed eye smile.
"Can I make whatever I want?" We hear and we turn around to see Soma standing there. 'Oh he's here I forgot... that's embarrassing that he saw all that' you thought.
"You can as long as you use eggs. But do you really want to try? If you want to withdraw, this is your chance." She answers Soma's question.
"Phew, I was really in a pinch! I was wondering what I would do if I got dropped out without having a chance to cook!" Soma says relieved then he places his hand on Erina's shoulder. At this Hisako and you get protective. Even though Soma is your friend, Erina is your best friend and you've been friends since you were kids after you moved onto Totsuki grounds to live with your grandpapa (Gp/n). Erina has always been there for you and the same the other way around, that's why you're so protective of her and the other way around.
Hisako then explains who Erina is to Soma only to be greeted by him messing around with a knife. Erina gives Soma one last chance to withdraw from her test and Soma responds with "I just have to make it so that you say it's good, right? I'll take it of course." Erina glares at Soma, Soma takes his band off of his wrist and ties it to his head. "I'll make our shop's special for you. Wait for it, examiner Nakiri!" Soma goes to his cooking station then gets started on his dish.
"I'll get started on my dish too! I'll make a plate for you too Hisako" You smile then get to work on your dish. Once you start cooking you get completely in the zone. When cooking you become more focused, serious, and everything that goes on around you that doesn't relate to your cooking you don't notice. You're following a quiche recipe that one of you're friends taught you but adding your own special touch. You mince the chicken for preparation. You then sautee the mushrooms, hen-of-the-woods, and shimeji mushrooms with butter. You create the main egg part by cooking eggs, soy sauce, and white miso over a saucepan till it reaches the desired consistency. You place the minced chicken and the sauteed ingredients over the pie crust in an oven-ready pan. You then pour the egg mixture to coat the ingredients and almost reach the top of the crust. Then you place it in the oven to cook, after cooking it you plate it.
