"I promise to love you, through thick and thin, through ups and downs, even death can't make us part."

"I promise to be the woman you've always been praying for. I promise to understand you and be with you always. Even death can't make us part."

Those promises were sealed by a sacred kiss. The audience was very happy. Cheering and whistling filled the church as the newlyweds kiss.

"Eh pa'no yan? Gusto ko isang anak lang? Hindi ko naman yata kakayanin yung tatlo."

"Trust me, you can." He laughed devilishly. "Ayaw mo ba nun, three kids represents those three words."

And she finally agreed. They will have three kids, raise them well, and they will have a happy life.

"I told you to stop working for the meantime! You're 4 months pregnant for Pete's sake!"

"Jay, I don't want to stay at home knowing that my students need me!"

"They need you? Don't you think our baby needs you too? Stress is not good for the child, Anna!"

They said, having kids are blessings. But does fallen angels count?

"I'm so sorry, Jay." Hands trembling, she tried to reach her husband's hands but he just turned his back. With a clenched fist, he walked down the aisle of the same church where they exchanged their vows.

The church bell starts to rang, everything was so familiar, same flowers, same people, same scenario where people are crying their eyes off.

"So," Anna sat beside her husband. "Is it the end of us?"

"Us ended the moment you lost our child, Anna. If only you -" he couldn't finish his words. He knows that it is partly his wife's fault but he also know that it is much painful for her. Blaming her won't bring their baby back.

"I'm so sorry, I couldn't give you kids. I'm so sorry this happened." Tears fall down their cheeks rapidly.

She removed her ring, and together with the small coffin, their promises are thrown down like flowers that fall in the 6ft deep ground.

After all, promises are indeed made to be broken.
