amelia finished getting dressed, and grabbed her bag before walking to her front door, trying to leave without her mom seeing, which failed.
"where are you going?" her mom asked.
"um, with lily to the park.. remember?" amelia replied, opening the front door.
"don't be home too late, and tell lily i said hi." her mom said walking back to the kitchen.
amelia sighed of relief as she closed the front door. she began walking to the park, about a 15 minute walk.
-
arne fixed his hair before he threw on a grey sweatshirt, feeling a little nervous about seeing amelia. he put on a bit of cologne and slipped on his white vans. he left his house and started walking.
about 15 minutes later he arrived to the park and walked up to the bench and took a seat while he waited for amelia. after about a minuet of waiting he finally saw her walking up to him.
"i thought you weren't gonna come" arne said with a small laugh.
"i wouldn't make the plans then not show up, that's so amateur." she replied with a smile. "have you lived here your whole life?" she asked.
"yeah, i was born here and then i went to prison here." he replied, soon realizing it wasn't a good thing to say right now. "i'm sorry.. that's just kind of my whole personality trait at the moment." he said, looking down to the ground.
amelia looked over to him. "don't be sorry, it's okay." she replied, "i'd be making jokes too if i was in your situation." she said.
arne looked up. "do you still think i'm what people say i am?" he asked.
amelia thought for a moment, slowly kicking the barkchips under her feet. "no." she said.
arne quickly looked over to her. "do you mean that?"
"yeah." amelia replied, "i've read up on your situation and i've seen a few of your court hearings.. i don't think a pretty boy like you could hurt someone like that." amelia smiled.
arne couldn't help but blush a bit, staying quiet for a few seconds. "i'd never hurt you that's for sure." he said, slowly grabbing her hand.
amelia smiled and put her hand in his, both their swings slowly going back in fourth.
"i can't believe we're in a park right now." amelia giggled, "what are we 5?"
arne laughed, agreeing with her.
"there showing this new horror movie this weekend, can i take you?" he asked.
amelias face dropped, "arne.. i really do like you but i'm just not sure how people will react if they see me with you." she said, a sad expression on her face.
"oh.." arne said, "i understand.. i guess we can just meet up here instead." he finished.
"just until i get to the point where i can tell people.. i promise." amelia smiled.
arne smiled, both their hands still holding onto each others.
there was a moment of silence until a car pulled up, they both looked up, amelias eyes widening. "oh god." she said frightened, quickly breaking their hands loose.
"amelia! what the hell are you doing?" her mother shouted from the car.
"uh who's that?" arne asked.
"my mother.. who kind of hates your guts." amelia replied, "i'm so sorry arne.. i have to go." amelia said, quickly picking up her things.
"get your ass in the car now!" her mother shouted again.
amelia ran to the car and got in the passenger seat, "what are you even doing here?" she asked.
"well someone wasn't here to go the store so i had to.. did you forget the store was right next to this park?" her mom said, extremely angry.
"was that arne johnson?" she asked, driving off.
amelia just stayed quiet.
"answer me damnit!" she said again, pounding on the steering wheel.
"yeah.." amelia replied, tearing up.
amelias mom has always kind of been mentally & emotionally abusive her whole life.. it wasn't extreme so she was able to deal with it.
her mom just shook her head angrily, not saying anything until they got home. amelia thought considering her mom was quiet she wasn't gonna say anything else.
they pulled up to their house and both quickly got out and walked inside, amelias mom slammed her keys on the counter and quickly got on amelia before she could trap herself in her room.
"you're one stupid girl.." her mom said, "arne johnson? he's a killer!" she shouted.
"no he's not!" she yelled, "he's a genuine person why do you believe he did all of those things willingly?" she cried out.
"because possession doesn't exist! it's not real amelia!" she shouted, "how did you know he wasn't gonna do the same thing to you what he did to that man!" she yelled.
"you don't know him like i do.." amelia replied, "and i'm sorry mom but i really like him."
"you LIKE him? you LIKE HIM?" she yelled. "he's been out for about a week how the fuck do you LIKE HIM?" she yelled.
her mom never really cursed, so she was obviously angry enough to do that.
"i'm so disappointed to call you my mother." amelia cried.
"oh YOU'RE disappointed? it's gonna be more disappointing for you to find where to live, get out of my house!" her mother yelled, stomping to her room.
amelia cried, running into her room and grabbing a small bag that's been in her closet. she filled it with clothes. she was sobbing the entire time. she put the backpack on one shoulder and left her room and out the door she went, slamming it behind her. she might've watched where arne walked to after work to see where he lived.. now that might sound weird but she just wanted to know in case anything like this did happen.
of course it started to rain as she walked. she looked down at the ground, still crying, not as much as she was when she left though. soon enough she arrived at the white door, thinking for a minuet before knocking. she looked down at the ground and heard the door open. "..amelia?" arne questioned. amelia shot her head up. "what are you doing h-" before he could finish his sentence amelia ran into his arms and cried into his chest. arne was shocked for a second, then hugged her, letting her drown her emotions in his t-shirt.
"i'm sorry," amelia said soon after. "after my mom found me with you she kicked me out." amelia cried. "i don't mean to bother but.. can i stay here? just for a bit until i can find someplace else.." amelia asked, embarrassed.
arne smiled, closing the door behind them. "of course you can, i don't really like being alone anyways." he replied. "god you're wet, it's pouring outside." he said looking out the window. amelia placed her bag down and looked around. arne went into the bathroom and grabbed a towel, walked out and handed it to amelia. "here." arne smiled, handing her the towel. "thank you, i need to wash out this rain in my hair and the mascara on my face." she laughed, arnes presence making her feel better.
"even at you're worst you're still beautiful." he said softly, stroking her cheek with his thumb. amelia just looked up, a small blush forming on her face. arne looked into her eyes, then to her lips and leaned forward. their lips attached for a minuet until they pulled away. amelia smiled, "i'm gonna go shower now." she giggled, arne nodding. "alright, i'll make you something to eat." he said walking into the kitchen. amelia walked into the bathroom, her heart racing after the kiss. she smiled and undressed herself, turning on the shower and getting in.
arne made her a sandwich, finishing before she got out of the shower. amelia looked at the shampoo, laughing once she saw the "men's" brand on it.
arne was watching tv and about 30 minuets later heard the shower stop.
amelia got out, drying herself off and wrapping a towel around herself. "shit." she whispered, "i forgot to bring my clothes into the bathroom." she said. she opened the bathroom door just enough for her head to pop out.
"um.. arne? i forgot my bag, could you bring it to me please?" she asked.
arne turned his head from the tv over to her. "of course." he smiled, getting up and grabbing her bag bringing it to amelia. amelia grabbed it from him. "thank you." she smiled, closing the door. she got dressed, wearing a plain white tee and some red plaid pajama shorts. she brushed her hair and walked out of the bathroom.
arne looked over to her and smiled. "god she's gorgeous." he thought to himself.
amelia slowly sat down on the couch next to him, not getting close in case that's not what he wanted.
arne picked up the plate, "here, you must be hungry i made you a sandwich." he said, handing her the plate. "thank you." amelia replied with a smile.
arne was so respectful, unlike her ex..
arne was scrolling through the stations and what was playing on the tv, amelias eyes widened.
"oh my god! the breakfast clubs on! i love that movie so much." she said excitedly.
arne smiled and turned it on, luckily the movie had just begun. "my sister made me watch it with her at the cinemas." arne said.
amelia finished her sandwich, the plate only having the crust on it, because who eats the crust?
they were both watching the movie, about 45 minuets in and amelia yawned, visibly getting tired.
arne looked over to her, "come here." he said.
amelia looked over to him, her being too tired to think about it, scooted over closer to him and rested her head in his lap.
"wow you smell like me." he laughed.
"well i didn't have much of shampoo and body wash selections in the bathroom, mr old spice." she laughed.
arne laughed, and began slowly playing with her hair as they both watched the screen. amelia soon fell asleep. arne grabbed the blanket that was folded on the couch and put it over her.
