Warning: Smut.
____________________________________Saturday morning arrived and I did nothing but lay lazily on Kennedy's bed while she tried on different bikinis.
"Marcy, get up, we still have to pack our bags and get changed."
"My bag is packed already," I groaned, taking Kennedy's pillow and using it to cover my face, "But I don't wanna get up!"It was around 10AM and I got to Kennedy's house about 30 minutes ago and we've achieved nothing in this span of time.
Kennedy couldn't figure out what to wear and neither could I.
I didn't own any bikinis that looked good enough for me to wear so I made an executive decision to borrow one of hers."Can't I just sleep forever?" I spoke again, moving the pillow and staring at the ceiling.
"No, Not when Reese is gonna be there." Kennedy's teasing tone filled the room.
I immediately sat up, my attention gained, "Huh?"
"C'mon, You think I haven't noticed how close you two are getting?" Kennedy turned and faced me, completely topless and holding two bikini tops in her manicured hands, "So we both have to look hot for our people, and that starts when you help me decide what to wear."Our people?
Hearing Kennedy describe it like that made my heart flutter.
For some reason, only in that very moment did I realise that Reese and I had a "thing", for lack of a better word.
It didn't feel real until I heard Kennedy say those words, especially since when I'm with Reese I felt completely detached from the rest of the world.
The fact that other people could see that we were getting closer wasn't exactly a thought that registered to me up until now.I watched as Kennedy stared at the mirror, contemplating her outfit choices.
She seemed so nonchalant, not bothered in the slightest that Reese was...well, a girl.
She described it as if it were completely normal and for some reason, a bare minimum reaction felt much more comforting than an overwhelming supportive one.I didn't want what Reese and I had to be a big deal. I just wanted it to be normal.
When people see Tai and Kennedy together, as a straight couple, they don't blink an eye.
Why did it have to be so much different for Reese and I, just because we're the same gender? Our people.
Kennedy's words rang in my head.My person.
Reese was my person."Kennedy?"
"Yes?"
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For not being weird about the fact that Reese is a girl, you know?"
"Marcy, it doesn't matter if you like girls or boys. As long as you're happy and they treat you right, I'll support you fully."
I breathed a heavy sigh of relief, "Right..." I looked at her, resisting the urge to hug her while she still didn't have a top on, "Also, Wear the yellow one. It suits you."
"Oh my gosh, you're right!"I smiled before I got up.
I eventually decided on a white bikini, accessoring with a gold layered necklace and waist chain that gleamed and glowed.
I put on a light sun dress over it, just for the time being.
Kennedy fluffed up my hair, adding volume to it, "Stunning, as always."
"Learnt from the best." I winked at her and giggled.Tai came to pick us up after an hour or so and we pulled our bags along, packing them into the back of the car.
"Why do you have so many bags?" Tai asked, reversing his car back into the road.
"Uh? Towels, a picnic blanket, fruit cups, money? What did you bring?" Kennedy looked over at Tai, her eyes curious.
"A ball?"
"To do what with?"
"Play volleyball?"
"Useless."The rest of the car ride was filled with random conversation and once we arrived at the beach, Tai immediately made a beeline towards his friends while Kennedy and I followed close behind.
