Justice Is Served

Chapter 2

Marinette wasn't thinking or looking at the way she ran. she just needed to get home to be alone. so as she ran she didn't see someone else walking in her direction towards her and ended up bumping into them. the person held onto her to stop her from falling

"crap! i-i'm sorry" Marinette quickly said before looking up to see who she bumped into.

"hey, you" Luka smiled down at her causing her to blush a little.

"L-Luka" she stammered, silently cursing for stuttering. "hey, sorry about that"

"It's fine" he replied letting go of her. Marinette instantly missed his warmth but didn't show it. 

"shouldn't;t you still be in school?" he asked.

"oh, um yeah I guess I am" she muttered tucking a strand of hair behind her ear looking away from him causing Luka to frown. he instantly knew something happened at school which is why she seems to be on her way home.

"Marinette what happened?" he asked sternly causing her to shiver a little.

"I...they just won't let up. someone wrote on my locker as well"

"what did they say?"

"Bullies always suffer in the end. Luka, they're really pushing it and I can; do anything about it!" Marinette said as she began to feel tears sting her eyes.

"have you told someone yet? this is really serious mari"

"what the point?" she sniffed. "pretty much all of the teachers love Lila. she'll twist whatever I say to make me look like the bad guy" she replied, tears finally rolling down her face.

Luka quickly pulled the girl into a hug rubbing her back and smoothing her hair as she began to cry more. he held onto her until she calmed down. he couldn't leave her lest she gets akumatized. 

When she did calm down, they walked to a park bench and sat down. Luka could tell she wasn't ready to say anything else yet and she was grateful that he noticed. 

The silence broke when her phone began to buzz. Marinette took her phone from her pocket and saw dozens of texts from Chloe asking where she is and why she hasn't come to class.

"Chloe?" Luka asked. Marinette smiled and nodded. 

"Yeah. she's just asking where I am. Gosh, I'm gonna get it from her when she comes over after school" she chuckled. Luka smiled when he noticed Marinette's posture become less tense and she seemed to brighten up a little.

CRASH!

both teens jumped at the sound when they saw another be thrown into a bus. 

Marinette quickly got up. Luka grabbed her wrist before she could go.

"Are you gonna be ok?" Marinette grinned at him.

"I always am Luka. I won;lt let my problems stop me from saving Paris" she replied before finding a place to hide to transform.

"that girl..." Luka chuckled as she left to stay safe from the danger.

"bye-bye little butterfly," Ladybug said as she watched the purified butterfly fly to freedom. Marinette wished she could fly just like the butterfly. she'd be able to fly away from most of her problems.

"did great as usual m'lady" Chat Noir complimented patting her on the shoulder.

"Thanks, Chat," she said getting ready to leave.

"whoa going already? I didn't even hear your earrings beep" Chat asked.

"well, they will soon. besides, I have a friend coming over" she replied. she wasn't in the mood to deal with Chat right now

"oh, so I'll see you at patrol?" he asked looking hopeful. he hadn't managed to go on patrol last night because he had Nino, Alya and Lila at his house which his father was generous to allow as long as they didn't bother him. 

"oh," Chat said. "I guess I'll see you whenever then"

"Yeah, sure" she replied before swinging away back to her home. Chat did the same.

when Marinette swung into her room, Chloe was already there sat on her bed on her phone.

"Chloe!?" Marinette exclaimed.

"Took you long enough. where the hell were you?" Chloe demanded. Marinette rolled her eyes and detransformed leaving Tikki to fly over to the biscuit jar on Marinette's desk. 

"I just didn't feel like coming ok?" Marinette replied closing the balcony doors. 

Chloe started at the blunette for a moment before getting up from the bed. 

"I saw your locker Marinette" 

"Good, then you know why I left. imagine the looks I would get when I walked into class"

"I thought you said their looks don't bother you"

"you know me better than that Chloe. sometimes they do." she shrugged. she turned to face Chloe with a smile that confused the blonde for a second.

"I ran into Luka on the way home"

"aw, lemme guess. he comforted you the way he usually does leave you in a blushing mess" Chloe laughed at the playful glare Marinette gave her.

"When are you going to tell him?" Chloe asked.

Marinette shrugged. "would there be any point. maybe he just sees me as a friend. I really don't want to go through any sort of heartbreak again Chloe"

Chloe nodded understanding Marinette. she just wanted to see her friend happy. personally, she thinks that Luka likes her too. 

"Let's go to the hotel and get something to eat. I can text Kagami and Luka to meet us there if they're not busy" Chloe suggested. 

"sure thing. I haven't eaten anything yet today"

"phew!" Lila sighed as she signalled for someone to bring her a bottle of water. "Photoshoots always make me sooo thirsty"

"you did great Lila. I'm sure they'll turn out great!" Adrien said as he put his white jacket back on.

"of course they will. you just modelled with Lila Rossi" Alya said as she let go of Nino and linked her arm with Lila's.

the four went and sat on a park bench and began to talk. From the corner of Lila's eye, she saw another group of four walks into Le Grande.

Lila hated that Marinette still had people with her. she couldn't;t convince the other three to turn against the blunette so she made those three look bad with her lies as well. 

that didn't satisfy her enough. she'd be more satisfied if Marinette was to just get akumatized so that Lila could prove her lies to be true. 

she just needed to find a way to make it happen. Marinette is said to be one of the only ones to not get akumatized.

well, that's about to change, Lila thought darkly to herself.
