Chapter 12

It was a bright sunny morning but to Lila, it felt...eerie.

As she walked to school, she felt cold stares being thrown in her direction and she could even hear some of the whispers by the nearby civilians she walked by.

"It's that Rossi girl"

"Ugh, I can't believe that she drove poor innocent Marinette to get corrupted by Hawkmoth"

"She even managed to make that class of idiots turn against her. Pathetic"

"What more can you expect from a pathological liar"

"She reeks of toxicity!"

"She lied about saving Jagged's cat. Like, who on earth doesn't know that the rock star is allergic to fur?"

"To think that those other kids believed every word she said. how stupid! does that school not look into stuff like that?"

Lila frowned and looked down and sped up her pace. 

This was not how it was meant to go! ow on earth was she going to ix this...wait! she could say that Marinette just showed them what she wanted them to see and that she was the innocent one. she was the real victim. Yes! And if that doesn't work...well, she'll get hawkmoth to akumatize her into Volpina and create an illusion to make Marinette look bad.

Yes. her plan was perfect!

Little did the Italian know just how wrong she was.

Marinette wasn't really looking forwards to facing everyone in class today. she wasn't quite too sure what to expect but at least she has Chloe next to her as they walk to school. 

Were they going to be angry at her?

Hate her even more than they already do?

She has no idea, but either way, she doesn't want to deal with whatever crap that they have ready for her when she walked into that blasted classroom.

"Hey," Chloe said softly snapping her out of her thoughts, "everything's gonna be fine. if they try anything, we can handle it. we always have"

Marinette sighed through her nose, "that may be true, but  got akumatized remember?"

"I get that you're still upset about that. but in all honesty, the others have no right to be mad at you. it's their fault. you were carrying all the sit they handed to you for so long. if it were anyone else, they would have given into hawkmoth on the spot. I'm speaking from experience"

"S-Sorry Chloe" Marinette apologised when she saw her friend's smile fall.

"Oh don't apologise Mari it's fine. now, let's walk into that class and show everyone that we don't give a damn about what they have to say"

Marinette took in a deep breath and nodded, "Ok. let's do this2

The two friends walked into the classroom and the chatter that was going on immediately stopped.

Everyone was looking at them.

Well, more specifically at Marinette.

The only one who didn't seem to be really paying attention to what was going on was Adrien who had his arms folded on the table and a sleep-deprived look on his face.

Marinette knew why. Last night, the miraculous team practically raided into the Agreste mansion and found hawkmoth in his lair just as he was in the middle of some monologue before he was about to send out an Akuma to God knows who. it was quite the battle especially when Mayura got involved, but with the strength of the team, they took them down. Chat Noir had ended up revealing who he was out of shock when he found out who hawkmoth was.
