Taehyung's POV:
"Jungkook stop!" I said laughing trying not to drop my bag filled with clothes and night necessities. "You're very...excited today."
"Mm. I just want kiss you." Jungkook said muffled by Taehyung's tan neck he was kissing.
"You don't get to kiss me until I know what this 'surprise' is."
"Nope. Cant tell you. You'll have to see."
"Ah-ha! So it's something I can see!" I said turning around and pointing at him.
His facial expression dropped. "Tae- Baby if course you can see it. Why would I surprise you with something you can't see?"
"Ugh I'm so impatient! Just tell me!"
"let's go, Kitten." Jungkook said linking our arms together.
Upon walking out to my driveway I don't see Jungkook's car. Well not his usual car.
"Wait Jungkook where's your car?" I asked.
"That is my car." Jungkook said pointing the unfamiliar black vehicle in front of us.
"What happened to your old car?"
"Mom said she was so proud of me for doing well in therapy and cooperating with my given rehab tasks, so she bought me a new car."
"It looks so cool. What kind?"
"Obviously a Tesla. My mom works in Tesla stocks." Jungkook said opening the door for me.
"I can't wait to see my surprise."
"I thought you said you hated surprises?"
"And?"
Jungkook chuckled turning a corner. "So how does it feel being 18?"
"To be honest, not that different from 17."
"You don't feel older or anything? More responsible."
"Responsibility doesn't just come with age, Jungkook. It comes with experience. Which I haven't had a lot of."
"What do you mean? You've had plenty of experience."
"Not really. I've never had a part time job. I've never even volunteered. How am I supposed to enter college—the real world—without real work experience?"
"I guarantee you'll be fine. College is where you'll get your real world experience. Just be a kid for as long as you can."
"I can't be a kid anymore though. I'm 18. A legal adult. Duh."
"But you're still in high school till May. So live while you're young before then."
"Yeah. I can't help but worry though."
"About college or high school?"
"No, us." I licked my dry lips.
"What about us?"
"When I go to college you will still be in high school."
"That shouldn't worry you."
"It does though. What if I get accepted into a university out of state?"
"Then we can do long-distance." Jungkook physically gripped the steering wheel harder
"Long-distance?"
"Distance makes the heart grow stronger." Jungkook quoted.
"Does it?" I asked rhetorically. "From what i've seen long-distance never works-"
"Then we'll make it work!" Jungkook yelled, fist punching the steering wheel. "We'll make it work." He repeated calming himself. His hand came down on my thigh gently but still caused me to flinch from the touch. "I didn't mean to scare you. What i'm trying to say is it does not matter if we are far apart physically, what matters is if we are close enough mentally. My love could cross mountains for you Taehyung. Mountains." He said with a smile. I stared at his hand—Thumb rubbing my inner thigh lightly. His behavior was strange. "Let's not fight. Not today. Not on your birthday. Yeah? Get excited! Happy!" Jungkook shouted the last few words jumping in his seat slightly. Looking at the road then back at me.
"Get happy."I hummed in response sitting up straight.
