Chapter 21

*Maddies POV*

Today is Hayes and I's 3 month anniversary! I'm so happy that I met a guy like Hayes. He's funny, sweet, caring, and he's not bad looking either! I just really want to know what Hayes has planned for us. Probably nothing big because it's only 3 months, not a year.

*Hayes POV*

Today marks the 3rd month of Maddie and I's relationship. I'm so happy I found her. Tonight is going to be big. I know it's only three months and I shouldn't be making a big deal about it, but I love her so much. Wait. What?

"Hey bro what are you doing for your anniversary with Maddie?" Nash interrupted my thoughts.

"We're uhh having a picnic on the uh beach." I said still recovering from what I just thought. Nash could tell that I was deep in though so he left.

I love Maddie. I really do. I always thought I would never get to feel what love is like but now I know. It's that feeling I get when I'm around her. The happy, jittery feeling.

And I'm gonna tell her tonight. I don't care if I'm too young. No one is too young for love.

I got up and went to get everything set up. I got white lights and a dark army blue sheet that I would nail into the sand. I got a picnic basket and put water bottles, napkins, and plates in their. I can't cook so I'm just gonna order pizza. It was 5:00 and I told her I would pick her up at 6, so I go get ready. I pick out tan khakis and a maroon shirt. Maddie said she loved that color on me. I slid on my black vans, did my hair and walked down to the beach to set everything set up.

*Maddies POV*

It's 5:00! Oh my gosh! My cat nap turned into a 3 hour nap and I still don't have anything to wear for our date!

"MAHOGANY LOX (I am aware that's not her last name)COME HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" I screamed throughout the house. Gany comes frantically running in.

"WHO DIED WHAT HAPPENED ARE YOU OKAY"

"Oh yeah I'm fine I just need help because I didn't pick out what I'm wearing for my date and it's in an hour!"

"Well then you're obviously not fine!! Let's get to work!!" Gany cheered. We went through my closet and finally found something to wear. Hayes said to dress casual, so we picked out a red crop top and a black maxi skirt. Gany straightened my hair as I did my makeup. Not a lot of makeup, just some foundation and mascara. Natural stuff. After I put that on, I felt like I needed something.

"Eyeliner!!" I thought out loud. I put eyeliner on my water line and we were done. I have to say, I look pretty good right now. Well, at least for me.

"Maddie you look amazing!!!" Gany complimented.

"Thank you! And thanks so much for helping me!!" I said as I gave her a big hug.

"Oh it's not a problem, Mads. Now, it's 5:55. Hayes should be hear any minute. You're gonna make a grand entrance down the staircase when he's in the house, okay?"

"Okay." I smiled. This was going to be great, I could tell.

*Hayes POV*

At 5:57 I arrived at Maddie's house. We were walking to the beach, since it was a block down from her house.

I rang the doorbell and waited about 10 seconds until Cameron opened the door.

"Hey Hayes. Maddie's upstairs. We can wait in the tv room for her to come down." Cam said.

"Okay, thanks man." I say.

"MADDIE HAYES IS HERE!" Cam yells up the stairs.

"OKAY I'M COMING!" Maddie yelled twice as loud as Cam. Ahh, singers lungs.

I heard footsteps coming down the hallway so I stood up and fixed myself up.

As she walked down the stairs my jaw dropped to the core of the earth. She looked amazingly beautiful.

"You're gonna eat a fly if you don't close your mouth boy." Mahogany smirks.

"Shut up." I laughed. Well that was embarassing. Maddie just giggled. "Ready?" I asked her.

"Yes!"

"Wait we need pictures!" Cam said.

"Dude we're going on a date not to prom." Maddie giggles.

"Still now get in the damn picture." Cam trys to hide his laugh.

"Finnnee!" I wrap my arms around her waist and she wraps her arms around my chest in a hugging position. She faces the camera but I go in to kiss her cheek. She giggles as the picture is taken. We get out of our pose and look at the picture. It was perfect. She's so beautiful. We finally got out of the door and started walking hand in hand.

"You look amazing." I say in awe.

"Aw thank you, Hayes! You don't look too shabby yourself." she winks. I laugh and kiss her forehead. (a/n fucking goals am I right)

*Maddie's POV*

Hayes looks so hot tonight.

"Why thank you." he laughs. Did I just think that out loud?

"Yes, yes you did." Hayes tries to hold in his laughter.

"I really need to control my-" I become speechless from the scenery in front of me. "Hayes you didn't.."

"Ahh but I did sweetheart." I can tell he's smiling. I just can't stop looking at this date he planned. It's a big army blue sheet with white Christmas lights surrounding the interior of the sheet. There's a picnic basket and a box of pizza laying next to it. "Happy 3 month anniversary, baby girl." He kisses me on my forehead.

"Hayes this is so amazing. Happy 3 months babe!" I go on my toes and peck him on the lips. I pull away but he immediately pulls me back in. I laugh through the kiss.

After our little make out session we decided to start eating. We devoured the food because we were both starving. After we ate the entire pizza, we were talking about random shit when Hayes got serious.
"What's wrong babe?" I asked scooting closer to him.
"I have to tell you something." oh god. That's literally anxiety in a sentence.
"Okay go." I said not really prepared for anything.
"Maddie I love you." he blurts out.
