Gaza gets up earlier as he is eager to come to his new college. The same rural but here's much colder than in Mysiq.
"Yes Bryan, I'm still in France. I'm going to return home next month. And may peace be upon you" He hanged the phone.
(He laughs when he sees Gaza wears three layers of coat)
"Yes grandpa, I'm freezing"
"Unpack my luggage, there are some woolen clothes, you can pick one to wear"
"Grandpa, I'll bring your luggage to my room"Gaza wears a wool jacket with a tuque. Then he goes to the firebox brings a glass of hot chocolate. There he finds his grandfather is already there working on his laptop. So, they are having their moment together.
The next day in the morning...
Gaza meets over three thousands candidates in the college. They are getting to know each other and most of them are local people. Just few conversations they have, people seem love to be around Gaza.
Then a sound of an announcement informs all of the audiences to enter the registration room by showing the code they've received by email. The requirements must be meet in order to ensure that they can be registered.
After registration they must go through some test stages before they finally become an official student. The tests will be holding within three days, involve reading comprehension and math skills as well as electronics, science and mechanical knowledge. The candidates are also being required to take special-purpose tests that assist the Armed Services in determining the best fit for particular jobs.
On the first day, he undergoes the theory, including memory test. The tests can take up to three hours. He is digesting what the content of the script means. He keeps thinking to understand what the purpose of the statement.
"C'mon Gaza, you can do it"
(He is pushing his memory)
A day has passed, the second day is the special test...until the last day comes
Gaza is a little bit happy because this is the last day of the test. Yet, apparently he is a little anxious, because he thinks that the fewer students the more difficult the test. Today is enough to determine his success to proceed to the next stage. This time is a dare to bring out the best version of himself. He's totally putting all his mind into focusing on himself.
"C'mon Gaza, you can do it!" His determination said.
Stage after stage he passes through and this is the toughest test of all, an endurance test. At first he starts to sweat a lot, he feels a little bit fever and his body is getting weak. However, he realizes that he only has a chance today. So, all he can do is forcing and convincing himself to keep getting up.
"You are awesome, Gaza. You can do it. Believe in yourself"
It's obviously by the look on his face he feels relief, but at the same time he feels less maximal. With a tired body, he is walking towards Hisyam among the crowd. There he finds his grandfather while holding the prayer beads. Then they both are going home and waiting for the announcement up to three days for to pass the selection stage.
Don't forget, the wounds those scratch Gaza's body are immediately treated by Hisham. He also shops some foods and supplements as he considers to help recover from the wounds more quick.
"Grandpa, I think this wounds don't matter to me. I'll be fine soon" He said with a gloomy face.
(Hisyam covers the wound by gauze bandage on a knee)
"No amount of guilt can change the past and no amount of worrying can change the future. Believe me, if you've done your best, a miracle is going to happen. Now just take a rest, hope it gets better before you finally start studying"
(He laments the few days he has passed)
"Cause you've finished your worship, it's up to you if you want to continue your evening with dinner. I'm going to my room"
(Hisyam gets outside and closes the door)
In the meantime, Gaza is just waiting for the dinner on his bed by playing with his phone and laptop. Actually he's getting more sick when he cannot go outside.
(He claps twice to turn off the lamp)
The sky gets dark, the clock shows already at 7 pm..
Hisyam enters Gaza's room wondering what is he doing right now. Seeing his grandson is sleeping, Hisyam just puts some meals for dinner on the desk next to the night lamp.
(He rubs Gaza's hair)
The next morning...
He wakes up being lazy in the bed then he hides under the blanket. He intends to continue sleeping but of the blue his grandfather knocks his door while calling up someone by phone.
"Okay, I'll catch you up soon"
(Hisyam hangs up the phone then he opens the door)
"How's your night, son?"
"Pretty good" Gaza answered.
"You must have your double breakfasts because you skip your dinner"
"But I'm still full now" Gaza said.
"Get up, at least go to pray first"He eats an apple then he goes to another room to pray. On the desk there is a wide open roll of paper. Which beside is there a piece of paper bearing an official acceptance letter from the university. Of course this thing makes him so happy.
"I almost can hardly believe"
He increases his worship time to give thanks to his God. He brings the letter to show it to his grandfather and he is happy for Gaza.
The first day at college Gaza seems hard to believe because he finally joins with another one hundred and eighty official students who have manage to bag a place of ESM college. He is able to compete with another three thousands candidates.
"Thank God" He smiled relieved.
(Gaza feels so happy as his pain turns out to be his own treat)
In the class room, he is getting to know a lot of mates. For the first lesson, they must learn how to become a good officer, with both combat training and lessons in the classroom. Cause he lives in the rural area so he thinks of living life close to the nature. Hisyam agrees to move to the villa nearby.
